"Mom, three calls on my first day is a little overdoing it."

Nikolai snorts, "It's mom Ali, what do you expect?"

Allison rolls her eyes at her older brother and begins to dig through her bag, "Everything except a pen, Oh my god. I didn't actually forget a pen."

In a poor attempt to cover his laugh, Nikolai pretends to cough, only earning a glare from his sister. He sighs and runs a hand through his hair, deciding to look around. One thing he learned was to always be aware of everything around you, no matter how insignificant it may seem at the time. Looking into one of the schools' many windows, he notices a boy staring out at them."Okay, okay, I gotta go. Love ya," Allison rushes, making Nikolai look away from the boy in the classroom to look at her.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," a voice chimes in.

"Ah, no it's perfectly fine, we weren't waiting long," Nikolai smiles, standing up from the bench.

Which isn't completely true, they had been waiting for a while now, he just didn't want to seem rude, especially to his principal. "I'm glad," he smiles back, "So,  you were saying San Francisco isn't where you grew up?"

Nikolai cringes, knowing what Allison is going to say next, "No, but we stayed for more than a year which is unusual for my family. We kind of bounce around a lot because of our dad's work."

Our dad's work, by that she means selling weapons to the police and such, she doesn't realize yet that that's not the reason they keep moving. She doesn't know about the supernatural and the family secret, and Nikolai plans to keep it that way for as long as possible, which honestly probably won't be that long considering she is an Argent. "Well, hopefully, Beacon Hills is your last stop for a while," the principal responds while opening the door to the classroom. "Class, this is our new student Allison Argent. Please do your best to make her feel welcomed."

Before Allison can head into the classroom Nikolai pulls her into a one-armed hug, "Good luck in your first class Ali."

Smiling at her brother, she returns the hug, "You too Nik."

He lets go and she moves into the classroom, heading towards the back to the empty desk, Nikolai taking notice of the fact her seat is behind the kid that was staring at them when they had been sitting outside. Before he can get a better look, the classroom door is closed. "Now, let's get you to your class, Mr. Argent."

-

Having fallen asleep during his class, Nikolai jolts awake to the sound of the bell ringing. "Alright class, that's all for today, you are dismissed."

The sounds of students shuffling around and gathering their stuff echos in his ears. That's one thing about Nikolai, his senses and reflexes have always been faster than most peoples. "Mr. Argent, if you could please stay until after class that'd be greatly appreciated."

Sighing, he gathers his supplies slowly since he's in no rush to leave anyways. After the final student has exited the classroom, he grabs his school bag and heads to the teacher's desk. "You uh, wanted to talk?"

Just by looking at her eyes, Nikolai can already see the disappointment, "Yes, and do you know why?"

He just stares at her, knowing the answer but not wanting to say it. "Because you fell asleep in class today," she scolds, "Now this time I'm going to let you go with a warning seeing as you are still getting settled, but next time its detention, understood?"

"Of course. understood," he lies, "I'm sorry for falling asleep today, as you said, we're still getting settled so I'm fairly exhausted, I'm sure my sister is too. I'll try not to let it happen again."

Nodding, the teacher dismisses him from class, believing his lie. In complete honesty, he wasn't tired from the move, he just really doesn't care that much for math, and he is so going to fall asleep in her class again.

"God damn this place is boring," Nikolai yawns, not speaking to anyone in particular.

Knowing his sister has probably already made friends, he starts heading towards the school's exit, not caring if anyone sees him leaving. Having already mapped out the school during his classes, he heads towards where the woods are, planning on taking a nap until school is over. Nikolai has always felt better in the woods, it's calming to him, it's quiet other than the sounds of nature and he finds that welcoming and comfortable.

After a bit of walking, he was sure he was quite a way from the school, which he honestly preferred. The further away from that hell hole the better in his mind. Finding a comfortable place to lay, he tosses his school bag down next to the base of a tree. As he lays down, using his bag as a pillow, all he can think of is how off this town feels, this goes on for a bit until darkness finally overtakes him.
