The bell chimed signalling the arrival of another customer. I plastered a plastic bright smile on my face and greeted her cheerfully. Rule number one while serving: Must always smile no matter what the circumstances are. As soon as I saw who the customer is, my smile immediately change into a beam.

"Hello Mrs. Blake, would you like the usual today?" Mrs. Blake was a regular customer at this little cafe I worked in. I liked her since the day I met her because she was a nice old woman though she doesn't talk much.

Mrs. Blake smiled and nodded her head. I went to get her usual orders and wrapped it up in a paper bag. Blue berry muffins and a cup of hot chocolate. I handed them over to her and she smiled at me handing me the money.I put the money in the cash register and gave her the change.

"Thank you for buying at Little Pink Cafe, please come again soon." I said cringing at the 'Little Pink Cafe' part. Mrs. Blake laughed at me. Even though she was a regular customer and I serve her almost everyday, it was store policy to say that to every customer.

The day just went by a blur and before I knew it, it was closing time. I went along first and said goodbye to my boss.

"Goodbye Angel, see you tomorrow." I waved at her.

"Bye Kat." Angel or my boss waved back.

I pushed the door open feeling the night breeze pass by me making my hair flown back in a tangled mess. The night was colder than usual and the wind almost knocked me of my feet. I tugged on my coat tighter around my body since I have no intention of dying from hypothermia tonight.

I was walking home passing by some thugs and prostitute but no one dared to approach me. I guess they learned their lessons of last time. I inwardly smirked and feeling proud at myself.

All of the sudden, the rain suddenly pours and I was drenched from head to toe. Dread started to fill me. Apparently luck wasn't on my side today. I was thinking of finding a shelter but that would be useless since I was already wet.

So I just continue to walk onward to the direction of my home. I haven't finish my math homework yet and I still have my history assignment. I should do history first and math later. Saves the best for last. I wasn't being sarcastic on that part. I really like math. Let's see, World War II started on 1939...

I was being to absorbed in my own thoughts that I jumped when I heard a bang. Through the heavy rain I could see the silhouette of two people.

Exactly 3 feet in front of me was a figure crouching down and another figure pointing a gun at the former. I was petrified. By the looks of it, they didn't notice me and I was about to turn around and leave the soon-to-be crime scene but something stopped me.

When I saw the attacker's finger rested at the trigger, my fighter instinct suddenly emerged from nowhere and I raised my foot to kick his face sending him back a few feet. I don't know how manage to see anything through this rain at all.

The attacker got back up and reached for gun but grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back. I swore I heard a crack but I shook it off. It's probably the rain. His arm was bent in an awkward angle and he released a scream. I punched him in the gut and he scrambled away from me running away.

I was tempted to go after him but I just can't leave Mr. Stranger here all by himself. I went back to check on Mr. Stranger and helped him to stand up. I checked his body for wounds and I only found one I found was on his shoulder.

I tear a piece of my shirt beneath my coat and wrapped it around the wound tightly to stop the bleeding until we can get him treated properly. I made a mistake of looking at his face and it was then that I notice how handsome he is. His face was a little bit blur from the rain but anyone with boobs and hormones would agree that he's handsome without doubt. Female instincts.
