I stepped into the empty hallway. Another minute in that cursed room and I'll snap. There were a lot of rooms in the hallway and I avoid each one like a plague. I weaved my way through the mile long hallways desperately searching for an exit.
After running to a couple of dead ends, dodging objects and avoiding people, I managed to find a staircase. It leads to a spacious living room like what you seen in the movie. There seemed to be people sitting there too and they're talking about something.
"...hurt her." A voice that sounds like Joseph said and I assumed they're talking about me.
"I didn't do anything." The voice sounds like ASP- Anti-social psychopath. I nearly laughed. Say that to the bruise on my neck.
"I know you Alex. You're lucky that Kat isn't normal." It sounded like an insult. The way he said it like I am some space alien among the midst of humans.
"I'm not going to return her." I stood there, staring blankly ahead. I downgraded from a free person to a prisoner and to an object in the span of- I checked my watch- 2 hours.
"She interests me. She is stupid enough to save a stranger. I've never seen anyone with half the brain like her. I want to solve her. It'll be a challenge to see how her mind works." I feel insulted and creep out at the same time.
On one hand I want to beat the shit out of him while on the other hand, I want to run away from this place as soon as possible. In the end, the creepiness won over and I start to plan my escape route. To get to the door I have to get through those two.
I had already come to the conclusion that they are gangsters. No one can kidnap a person and feel absolutely fine without any remorse unless they are criminals. Sneaking pass them would be a problem so I have to get them away from the door.
I turned on my heels and walk back towards the way a came from and grabbed a vase. I made sure to pick up the cheapest looking one. Should they caught me, at least I didn't add destroying-expensive-things to the the reason why they should kill me.
I walked till I reached the intersection of the hallway then threw it with all I have into a random direction. I opened my mouth to screamed to make sure that they would come. I quickly looked for a place to hid when I heard footsteps and voices coming towards me.
In the end,I threw myself into a broom closet. The footsteps rushed pass me and I took that chance to run. I burst from the closet and sprinted down the stairs.
The door was closer and closer and I could taste freedom at the tip of my tongue. A grin broke out and everything seemed to be in slow motion. My hand reached out towards the doorknob.
Everything came crashing down when someone grab me by my collar and dragged me back. I nearly sobbed from desperation. WHY?!
I kicked, screamed and scratch at my assaulter since I can't exactly fight backwards. It seemed that 'it' - I refused to refer to that asshole as a human being - was fed up with me in my near hysterical state that it knocked me unconscious.
The last thing I see is red hair with a pair of shocking blue and my last thought was I'm going to kill that fucker.
**************
I opened my eyes falling into consciousness for the second time. The knocking people out had to stop. Can't we all just sit down and have a normal talk like normal people. Stupid gangsters.
I groaned and raised my arms to stretch but I realized that they're stuck. My hands were bounded behind my back a cloth tied over my mouth to prevent me from making any sound. My legs weren't much better off considering it were also bounded by my ankles.
I looked at my surroundings and saw that even my hostage place was downgraded. There were no longer soft beds and heavenly soft pillows. Instead there was a hard ground that was dusty and full of germs. I nearly shivered in disgust.
"Stop moving." I immediately recognized the voice. "I will unbound you, just don't try to run away again."
Like hell. I merely rolled my eyes and ignore him. After all ignorance is a bliss right? He made a move towards me with a knife and my first thought was fuck. I tried to resist against the rope and move away but it was impossible.
Please, Jesus, Buddha, or whatever god that is up there, I'm sorry that I did not did much to improve the humanity but if I get out of here alive, I swear to never laugh at other people's pain - even though dying from a mere heartbreak is fucking ridiculous- I snorted at the thought but mentally slapped myself into putting more sincere feelings and words to get into the god's good grace. I will save an injured puppy, give money to...
I lowered my eyes thinking a mental prayer. Surviving a gang fight was easy with my limbs still usable but with my current predicaments, it would be considered lucky if the fucker leave my corpse in one whole piece.
Lost in my failed attempt at prayer and musings, I nearly screamed when I was pulled out of my thoughts by seeing the knife from my peripheral vision raised and poised to attack. I made the sound of a dying whale - even though I was a soon to be dying human - when it came striking down in the speed of an ostrich - which was fast for those who didn't know.
In ten or twenty years, I would laugh this off as a joke but right now was not in the future where I snuggled under a comforting comforters - see what I did there - with a cup of warm chocolate - pure chocolate bars melted in the microwave mind you. In fact, there will be no future at all!
I didn't know what exactly happened - which was a half lie since I know that gun-raping bastard tried to stab me - but here I was, lying on the ground with ropes scattered around me. Most importantly, I'm alive! I'm fucking alive!
I jumped from my lying position and checked my body too be sure. There was nothing wrong with it except the rash on my wrists and ankles. Slowly raising my gaze towards the possible psychopath who was observing me like without blinking, I offered a tight smile.
"Let's have a normal conversation regarding my current position at the moment." I said smoothly and took three steps back just in case.
