"Come on Kiara." The little boy dragged his friend outside. "Let's spar."
"Sure, give it all you've got Milly." She smirked.
"Don't call me Milly." He whined.
"I won't if you beat me."
"Then, prepare for a beat down." He announced.
"Bring it on." Said Kiara and charged towards him.
He tried to side step her but she saw it coming and continued her charge down his way.
"Nice try Milly but that won't work on me." Kiara said.
"It's just luck Kiara. Don't call me Milly."
At the age of seven, Milo and Kiara had been trained for martial arts. Though their sparring was partial on Milo's side. Hurting a girl was never his strong suit. So holding back on Kiara was inevitable.
"Milo, stop pulling back." She cried out. "I won't get better if you do."
He paused in confusion. "But you'll get hurt."
Kiara narrowed her eyes. "And so."
"Ok, but you asked for it."
She gave some few good throws but he blocked most of them. Milo then saw an opening in her stance and decided to go for it, kicking her shin.
"Ow!!" She cried out, her face expressed her pain.
Milo ran over to his friend. "I'm sorry Kiara. I really am, please don't cry." He tried to help her get on her feet.
A small smile appeared on Kiara's face.
"Gotcha." She yelled and gave him an elbow in the gut.
He clutched his stomach in pain. "No fair Kiara. That was a cheap trick." He whined.
"But you fell for it." She smiled proudly.
"That's cause I love you."
The girl wagged a finger at him. "Ah ah ah. No love in war Milly."
"That wasn't a war. Help me get up."
"Yeah sure, fine." She stretched a hand and then he took it and pulled himself up.
He dragged her close to him and whispered softly in her ear.
"That bug looks pretty."Kiara's face morphed into one of confusion. "What bug." She asked him, unaware of the life form on her.
It was then his turn to smirk when he told her. "The one in your hair."
Her eyes went wide before she let out an ear piercing scream. "Milo, get it off, GET IT OFF." She squealed dusting her hair while peals of laughter erupted from her friend who was on the floor, clearly enjoying her torment.
Kiara's hair was in ruins. Finding no such accused bug in her hair she glared at him. "That was just mean."
"No..." Milo was still laughing. "It was funny."
Her glare just got hotter.
"I'll tell your parents that you were mean to me."
His laughing immediately stopped. "I'm sorry Kiara. Please don't tell." He begged.
"Sorry, won't do it." She huffed.
"A hug?" He asked shyly.
Kiara hesitated. Truth be told, she was awaiting a hug for some time.
"Fine." She said. And he tackled her in a bear hug.
"I still don't totally forgive you." She pouted.
"Would it help if I said I love you." He asked softly.
"Almost."
"What if I gave you half of my cupcakes."
She pulled back and gave him a huge grin. "Deal."
