Rain pelted against the windshield as I drove down the curvy road home. It was my sixteenth birthday and my first time driving alone. My parents were workaholics and always made up for the lack of love with gifts, which was why I was driving a brand new 2015 toyota Camry.
The brand new car was nice but there was always this empty feeling that ate at me 24/7. I had jumped from one extreme to the other my whole life trying to fill the void. Currently I sat behind the wheel driving a good forty miles over the speed limit with the radio cranked. It made me feel alive to see the trees whipping by as I drove.
Nothing could swipe the smile from my face, that was until a shadowy figure appeared in front of my car. Slamming on the breaks My car hydroplaned on the inch of water covering the road. Everything around me turned slow motion as the car slide and hit into the shadowy figure. Before we made impact I caught a good look at his face. He was handsome, with chocolate brown hair, striking blue eyes and slight stubble that lined his jaw. What caught my attention more than anything was he was smiling, a sickeningly sweet smile that screamed something was off.
Once the car smacked into him he rolled up onto the windshield an over the top of the car. I pressed the breaks as hard as I could and the car spun skidding to a stop. My vision had gone blurry as my heart pounded rapidly in my chest. Stumbling out of the car I dropped onto my knees as the rain came down hard. Having to wipe at my face repeatedly to see even slightly through the downpour.
The handsome man lay on the road unmoving and fear squeezed my heart.
"H..he..hey.." I stuttered
When he didn't respond I slowly and cautiously took steps toward him.
"H..hey..are..you..are..you okay" I felt tears stinging my eyes.
The man remained still and unmoving as the rain continued its assault.
"Oh god.." I choked on a sob as I realized the man I had hit was himself a teenager. Not only that but I had seen him around town many times. What was he doing out in the woods?
Turning I sprinted to the car for my phone to call 911. It was no where to be found as I searched through the car violently. Not sure what to do I spun on my heel to see if the man was alive. As I turned my heart lodged in my throat, the man was standing and making his way toward me.
"Are..are..you okay?" I yelled through the rain
The man didn't respond as he made his way toward me speeding up slightly.
"S..sii..sir?"
He was on me fast trapping me up against the car door his hands on either side of my head. His face was so close to mine our noses were touching.
"You foolish girl you could have killed us both!" He hissed violently
"I..I'm sorry" I stuttered frightened.
He sighed deeply and ran a hand through his hair backing up slightly.
"Look you smashed my phone when you hit me and my back is killing me so is it possible you could give me a lift?"
"Yum..I guess" I looked away wondering if giving a stranger a ride was a good idea.
"We've seen each other around town so its not like I'm some strange psycho." He smirked at me.
"Well first I need to make sure my cars okay." I looked away from him at the car.
He pulled me away from the car and opened it for me to get in.
Turning the keys in the ignition the car roared to life.
"Thank god." I sighed
The handsome man raised an eyebrow at me.
