"You can really dance!" I say, out of breath once we take a break and go get some sodas. Cole laughs. "It's these hips, baby." I flush for multiple reason, one being him calling me baby and the other is because I start thinking about what's between those hips.

I take a drink of my root beer, my favorite. I glance around the room. There's people dancing wildly, people drinking alcohol. I've never been out to a place like this, and I frown when I see a group of people drinking beers around 3 children who are all playing with each other.

Cole sees me frowning. "What is it?" He asks. I shake my head and evil glare the adults.

"Those people over there, they're drinking, and there are children right there."

"So?"

I am shocked. He looks at me with curiosity. "Have you ever seen people drink before?" he says. I think about it. When I was younger, my mother used to have a glass of wine every now and then, but she stopped once Brian came along. He never drank, but I'm pretty sure he smoked pot behind her back. I'd never been out to a place where adults were drinking near kids unless my house counts.

"Yeah, of course, it's just... I've never seen people drink in public. I thought that was a mostly private thing."

Cole is looking at me now, but I can't tell what's going on in his mind. "You have been so deprived of a life. You know nothing about the real world, do you?" He asks, not unkindly but the words still sting. I almost retaliate and throw something back, but then I pause.

I haven't seen the real world, really. My mom and Brian made sure I was always home and kept away from other people. The most exotic place I've been to was my grandparents house about an hour away from my home, but we never went back because Brian didn't like my mom's parents. I had gone to the grocery store, school, random shops, and the occasional restaurant. Once, when I was little, we went to the beach. I don't remember why, but we left early right after we got there.

"No, I... I guess I haven't." I look down at my toes, and he steps closers to me and kisses my forehead.

"Hey, look at me," he says, and I do. "I'll show you. Give you lessons, how about that?"

I laugh and nuzzle his chest, smelling that warm cologne. A slow song starts playing, "Beautiful Crazy" by Luke Combs, and he immediately jumps to action.

"This is your song." He says, and pulls me out to the dance floor.

We sway side to side, and I can't help but lean up to kiss him softly on the lips. "Thank you for tonight." I whisper, and he presses his lips to my cheek.

"Of course, my beautiful crazy girl."

We get in the car later, all danced out and giddy with happiness. He turns the music down really low and we sit together in comfortable silence.

"Sarah might be mad how late I'm bringing you home." Cole says, and I bite my lip. I want to ask him something, something that I've never done before and I'm scared to do. He glances at me, and I look up at him.

"Can I... can I spend the night at your place?"

He looks at me surprised, but smiles, and then laughs. "Yeah, of course... any particular reason?" He asks with one eyebrow up. I blush deeply and look at my hands. "Maybe?" I say, and he just laughs again and keeps driving.

We come up to a gated community area, and Cole flashes a card to the man working the booth. He waves us in, and Cole slowly drives around.

My eyes nearly pop out of my head. The houses are HUGE and fancy. The lawns are perfectly kept and the streets are cleaner than anything I've ever seen. I gasp when Cole pulls into the driveway of a large, modern house. The entire front has huge windows and lights. It's gorgeous and open and I nearly start drooling over how much I wanted this house.

He ushers we in, and I stop immediately. Everything is... perfect. The pure white furniture is untouched, large kitchen is spotless, and the entire dining room table is without a single speck of dust. I turn to him, and he smiles.

"How can you afford this?" I ask, incredulously. His face closes up a little.

"My dad... he felt bad for leaving me so when I got old enough he showered me with money. It was either starve or take it, so I took it." He tells me. I remember him telling me a little about his childhood, but not much. Basically, his mom died at his birth. His dad left him when he was 9 with his aunt and uncle who continually had kids every few years. "I swear I couldn't blink without there being a new one." He told me, and I laughed.

Now, I just took his hand and he smiles before pulling me into him. He kissed my lips gently.

"Wanna see the bedroom?"
