Dawn had just about finished 19 years in this stupid place. She knew she'd get out sometime... But she didn't know when.
She couldn't wait to get out, it made her head hurt to even think of it. The only thing stopping her from ending her own life was her new found friend. Franky.
He was very sweet, and cute. God! Was he cute! He was old enough to be covered in tattoos. She knew her parents would never accept her new friend. They didn't take too kindly to her past Internet friends. She didn't care. Knowing how he made her feel better was enough.
Dawn was beautiful, but she wasn't one to feel that way about herself. You see, Dawn's self esteem was VERY low. She never knew she could hate one person as much as she hated herself. In her opinion, her life sucked. Her depression had turned her into a roaring ball of emotions. Broken hearts, along the line, had only made her depression worse.
Dawn had a smiles like none other. When she decided to show it, that is. Which was often to hide her true feelings. She loved that she has mastered her fake smile. She knew if she hit it with a smile it would keep suspicions down, and it was easier than talking about her problems with someone who wouldn't understand. Or even care. Franky was the only person who knew of her problems, and she was okay with that.
She used music to hide her feelings, as well. She loved how she could listen to a happy song to momentarily hide her sadness.
She had her share of happy, sad, and other mixed emotion songs. It was never clear what the mood of her next song would be, she preferred it that way. She didn't like being too happy, it felt weird and made her uneasy.
The thought of running away was always there but she never knew where to start. What to do. When she figured it out she swore she would act. As soon as she could. Support. Or none. Not a single care was even considered.
All her parents did was fight. "Do you ever stop!?" She found her mind screaming louder with every moment.
Her stepfather was the devil. she couldn't wait to get away from him! Of course she loves him. But sometimes love is complicated. Maybe all love was this complicated, she didn't know. All the love she had ever had sure was.
