A/N: OH DAMN WHAT'S THAT? A NEW CHAPTER? Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Okay so if anyone cares, I am super sorry that it has taken me four months to upload a new chapter, University is a little more hectic than expected. Anyway, things are about to get hella interesting so please enjoy this chapter and stay tuned (;
P.S. I promise it will not take me as long to update next time x
Jacob awakens on Saturday morning to peace. For the first time in months he is not being shocked away by music blasting from his radio alarm, or his two angry roommates each trying to win an argument they would have with anyone else. He soon realises that this is because he is lying on a couch rather than in his bed. He remembers then that he fell asleep during the third X-Men movie, and Adrianna must have just let him crash. After Jacob has wrapped his mind around this, he realises that it is Saturday, and he has to work today. He twists around frantically, his eyes searching for a clock or his phone. He sees the time and relaxes a little but not entirely, he still has to get home and change and then back to work, he has two hours but with his luck every bus will be late and he will walk into a fight at home and everything that could set him back will.
"You're up!" Adrianna's voice interrupts Jacobs worrying. She walks into the lounge room, tying her hair up.
"Yeah, thanks for letting me crash."
Adrianna shrugs; really Jacob was the one doing her a favour by keeping her mind off what she found out the previous afternoon. Unfortunately, now it is time to come back to reality. She has things to think about and decisions to make, but right now she is supposed to be working.
After Adrianna drops Jacob off at home she heads to work, and he walks head first into World War III Version 7.6.
"You have no fucking respect, do you?"
"Respect? You want to talk about respect?! How about all the times you-"
"QUIET." Jacob slams their door to emphasise his shout and his anger at his roommates. "God, can't you give it a break for five minutes? If you don't like living together, one of you go and change it, you know you can. If you can sit down and deal with whatever petty problems you've got, then do it, kiss and make up and quit with the screaming matches every damn day."
Lachlan turns a little red after Jacob's spiel, but Rory just glares, then storms out of the room, slamming the door much the same way that Jacob just did. When Rory is gone, Lachlan drops on to the couch and hangs his head back over it, looking up at the ceiling. Jacob shakes his own head at his friend and begins to walk past him into his own room to get ready for work. When his hand is on the door, Jacob is stopped by the sound of a pained groan coming from Lachlan. He turns back with his eyebrows raised, but Lachlan is already getting to his feet and heading towards the door.
When Jacob enters his room he grabs a pen and pushes the mess on his desk around until he sees a pad of post-it notes. On the top slip of paper her scribbles himself a reminder to talk to Lachlan and find out how he is doing. This semester they have hardly spoken, and Jacob knows if he does not have a physical reminder he will just keep putting it off. He sticks the note to the back of his door so that he will see it as he leaves tomorrow morning, then falls into a mad rush trying to prepare himself for work.
