We were currently having a discussion about my name. Just one of the random topics for us. Hey, we were just 17. "My name is wierd and old fashioned. End of discussion."

"I give up," Lou threw her hands in the air dramaticly, sighing and rolling her eyes, "there is no hope for you. Your middle name is Japenese for 'beauty of the century', though."

"Kimi? Seriously?"

She blushed, looking sheepish, "I do my research, Evelyn Kimi Freda."

"Stalker." I stuck my tounge out at her.

"Well happy birthday, anyways."

"That's not for another month, Lou."

"So? Let me take you home, okay?"

"No."

"But-"

"Calm now, Lou. I'm taking a cab home, okay?" I gave my best friend a hug, and she squeezed me a back.

"All right, Evelyn, try not to get yourself killed." She smiled, meaning it as a joke.

"You expecting me to try?" I asked, raising my eyebrows in mock-surprise.

"No, but... you know."

I hugged her again. "See you later, Lou."

"Bye, Eve."

She unlocked her car and slipped inside, starting the engine. I shivered against the chilly air, pulling my coat tighter around me.

She shut the door, and pulled away. I waved good-bye, and started for my walk home. I'd lied to her about getting a cab, of course. She worried too much.

It was dark, about 11:30pm. We'd just gotten finished with watching a movie at a friends house. I shivered, thinking about the Vampire horror movie. I'd always been terrified of them, but those damned movies just make my fears worse.

Ugh.

I was already at my street, and the familar surroundings gave me and illusion of safety.

I heard something behind me, and kept walking. Probably just a cat. But the steps were heavy, and I became unsure.

Turning around to look, I saw a man standing there. He had on a beige trench coat, and a matching hat.The light made the entire scene creepier, with the fact that I could only see about his mouth down, nothing more. The entire scene was quite eerie.

Deciding is was nothing, I turned and continued walking, but that was probably a mistake. Because the very next second - I currently didn't understand this, how'd he move so fast? - his hands were around my waist, pinning down my arms and rendering me immobile.

"Hey, don't want me to lose a meal, do we darling?" He chuckled as I squirmed to get away. I was panicking now, so I screamed.

My voice didn't leave my throat before his hand clamped over my mouth. "Might as well get this over with, shouldn't we?" He laughed again, then brought his lips to my neck.

What the-? My next thought was interrupted by a sudden blast of pain, coming from two small pinpoints in my neck.

A vampire? No, those were only in fairy-tale books, weren't they? Just myths to scare people, right?

I screamed into gloved hand, which was icy. I felt him smile into my neck.

My vision swam slightly, and I stopped struggling. After a while, I could hardly keep my eyes open, and he pulled away. I stood, swaying.

"Don't be dramatic." He said. I vaguely noticed someone else say something.

"Good lord, Mark. How much did you take?"

"Hardly any, Ezra. I don't know what's wrong with her."

"W-w-what's w-wrong with m-m-me?" I said, my voice stuttering. "W-what the h-hell i-is wrong w-w-with you?"

Then I blacked out.

-------

I woke up in the back of a car. I felt weak, so very weak somehow. Then I remembered that I'd been attacked by phycopaths who decided it be cool to pretend to be vampires.

Weird.

Forcing my eyelashes open, I tried sitting up.

"Ah, she's awake."

"Who the hell are you? Where the hell am I?" The age old questions flew out of my mouth before I could stop them. Okay, maybe the hell wasn't always in there, but that was just my version.

"I'm Ezra, and you are in a car, darling."

"Thanks, Captain Obvious." I snapped, glaring. "Now, let me out."

Ezra smiled at me. Bitch. "Rather not."

Grabbing the doors, I attempted to pull them open.

"Ezra?!"

"Child lock, don't worry."

"What are we going to do with her?"

"We?"

"Yes, we."

Mark stopped the car and walked around to my door. I backed away, pressing my back to the other door, and before I could blink, he was gone, and had opened the door I was leaning against, causing me to fall and hit the assault with a thud.

"Ow." I said, rubbing my back.

He grabbed my hair and pulled me to my feet, I yelped in pain.

I looked at him. "Oh, calm down and shut up."

Suddenly, I was mesmerised by his eyes. They were huge, and green as emeralds. "Damn." He muttered, then said, "You try, Ezra."

"You can't?" He laughed. Not a cold laugh, but a heartfelt one. Weird phycopaths.

"W-what a-a-are you going t-to do with m-me?" I stuttered and slurred my words like a drunk, but at least they came out right. Sorta.

"Why do you keep talking like that?" It was Ezra talking this time.

"B-Because you t-think it be f-funny to pretend to be vampires and w-w-waste the bloo-od o-of an an-anemic." I swayed again, leaning on the car to keep my balance. To my intense surprise, both the men were surprised.

"Of all the humans in the world, Mark."

"Hey, I didn't know."

Ezra walked up to me and looked me in the eyes. His were a creamy brown, and I literally couldn't look away. I wanted to, trust me, it was creepy. But I couldn't.

"Shit." He turned around and began confrencing with the other vampire. Niether were looking at me, so I took the chance, and ran.

Nausea swept over me, but I kept going. I needed to get to town, needed to get away from these lunatics.

My vision swam again, and I tripped over my own feet. I landed on the ground, and blacked out again.
