Prologue
It wasn't long ago that I had a dark secret inside me. A secret that I planned to keep, even from myself, for as long as I could. I felt like it consumed me once, then somewhere along the way I discovered there was something else. Something in me of hope. A place I thought was dead. A place of optimism. A place the darkness could never touch. Like a pilot light of sorts in the pit of my soul.
Until now, I thought my heart might stay forever untouched. Not quite cold, but never used for the purpose it was built for. It wasn't always this way. A time ago, a hole was punctured that prevented the flow of life, the flow of love.
But then I met him.
This isn't just a story about love. It's a story about friendship, and how sometimes, that is infinitely more important.
