"An apple for you." Seokjin was holding a red apple loosely in his hand, settling it in front of Yoongi with a goofy smile on his face. Yoongi huffed tiredly at him. He had been sitting in his studio for what had seemed like ten hours now and somehow Seokjin dragged him to drink coffee with him. With coffee came the joke of Yoongi and his 'apple love'.

"Oh, boy." Yoongi reached for the apple. "Thank you so much, hyung." He said, emphasizing his sarcasm quite well.

Seokjin laughed. "What's up with you and those things?" He asked as Yoongi nibbled on the skin of the apple. "Or fruit in general. Why must you have it at the most important times? Like events, you know?" He questioned.

Yoongi wanted to tell him to stop paying so much attention to him. Because Seokjin knew him all too well, knew all too perfectly about Yoongi and his fruit. Or Yoongi at all. He had been his roommate for long enough to know when Yoongi gets attached to anything.

"It's not weird." Yoongi said.

"I didn't say it was, Yoongi." Seokjin sipped on his coffee and gave Yoongi an odd look. It's the look he gives every time he starts to pay attention more, as if to show whoever he's talking to that he's listening. "You just continue to do it. We think it's cute, you know?"

Yoongi scrunched up his nose. "Who's 'we?' Cute? Why?" He removed the apple from his mouth. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oh, come on." The older wrapped an arm around Yoongi's shoulder, weighing him down only slightly. He held tighter onto his cup of coffee as Jin continued. "When you run around looking for fruit, or hiding tangerines in your pockets during awards shows? How could we not notice? You're like a baby with a pacifier. Even Taehyung started asking the staff for more fruit at the snacks table for you."

Oh.

Taehyung does that?

"I know we joke a lot about it." Seokjin drizzled something into his coffee, the appearance of the liquid barely budging to change as he did so. "You seem to take it seriously, though." His soft eyes gazed back up at Yoongi. "So it must be serious?"

The only sound Yoongi could focus on now was the air coming from the vent. It was late at night. They probably shouldn't be drinking coffee, but here they are, sipping it down. Seokjin's eyes were sparkling as his eyebrows raised, trying to hold eye contact as he drank his coffee. Yoongi honestly didn't know how to answer such an odd question.

  Is it serious?

Why should he take apples so seriously? Why would anyone take a fruit seriously?

Yoongi pulled his apple back up to examine it. It actually looked a little rough, as if nobody truly wanted it. It was weird that Yoongi could attach an emotion to a non-living fruit as he was. There should be no reason to find such comfort in apples, or in oranges or strawberries— whatever. Why should it be so serious?

  It's just an apple.

Yoongi huffed as he raised his heavy blanket and slid right under it as he always does. It wasn't too late at night, so he instantly brought his phone up to his face and turned it on, the brightness hurting his eyes straight away. His pajamas were soft. And his bed was soft, his pillow soft. It was coming close to bedtime.

The conversation earlier with Seokjin had drained him. They went home together not too long after drinking their coffee and laughing over random things in their group chat together— something Jimin had replied to.

He sighed as he went to Twitter. It felt as if his account was neglected and left to die. Yoongi decided he wanted to change that by tweeting out one of his fairly recent photos to the BTS account. Instant blown up likes, retweets and replies came flooding in. Yoongi smiled at the sight. He didn't even caption the photo.
