Look. This may sound weird but, I have to explain this to you. Me, and my good friend, Ayden, are magicians. Not like the ones you see on TV where they perform crappy tricks, but like, real magicians. You’re probably really confused. Okay let me explain this from the start.
Hi. I’m Skyler Kennedy Johansson. I am 14. I was the most ordinary high school student you could imagine. Tank top, skinny jeans, the usual. I was in the middle of history class. I was looking around, as to be honest, history is not the most interesting class you could think of. My eyes rolled back down onto the open history textbook on my desk, scanning on some words, pretending I was paying attention. I looked up onto the blackboard, the teacher was writing down some words but my sight seemed to get all blurry. I scrubbed my eyes and looked up again. I felt like the world was spinning around me and I my head felt as if lightning bolts crashing on it rapidly. I clenched my teeth. The pain was unbearable. I thought my brain was about to tear apart when everything stopped. I fell unconscious.
The next thing I knew when I woke up was I was lying on the ground, and a baboon was sniffing my hair. I opened my eyes. Am I dreaming? I pinched myself. Ouch! Okay that hurt, so I’m not dreaming. I picked myself up, and brushed of the dust on my new tank top. I gazed up. I was in an old castle. The ceiling was decorated with gold flakes and the walls are all portraits of probably the ancestors of this dynasty or whatever they call it here. The ground was white and black marble, the most polished, shiny marbles I’ve ever seen. The baboon was still beside me though. I looked up and my sight landed on what’s in front of me. There was a throne, a golden throne. On the throne, sat a thing. I didn’t know what that thing is. It was shimmering, it doesn’t seem real. It seemed half see-through. The shimmering image was a elegant woman. She was dressed in a long, white dress with blue silk looping on her sleeves. Her hair was long and black, soft and luscious. I stared at her in awe.
“Hello Skyler.” The lady greeted me in a soothing tone.
“How do you know my name? Why am I here? What do you want from me?” I screamed. I was trembling in fear. Although the lady doesn’t seem evil, but I figured that she is the one the whisked me into this luxurious palace and placed a baboon beside me. ‘Never judge a book by its cover. I was panicking inside, and trying hard not to make it seem so obvious. My heart was pounding out of my chest, and my palms and sweating. I looked into the lady’s green blue eyes. It seemed to shine, like a star. There seemed to be some force in her that was telling me that I could trust her.
She stood up. And floated towards me. Yes. She floated. I could clearly see that her feet weren’t touching the ground. Behind her spread a pair of white wings. They were smooth, pure and reflected the sunlight that shone through the window. I was still trembling as she reached her hand out and put it on my shoulder. I quickly took a step back. I was still questioning myself on trusting her or not. She looked right into my eyes, staring at it deeply. I suddenly felt a gust of warmth filling my body. I breathed in deeply and my fear started to go away. I stopped shaking and my palms stopped sweating. I feels like I was hugged by a warm giant marshmallow.
“Skyler, mind if I feel your heartbeat?”
“Ye…yes I mind,” I stuttered. I was still nervous and was cautious about her touching me.
Her shoulders drooped, and sighed.
“Look Skyler, we need you.”
