My name is Olivia French, to be frank, I am nothing special, just a normal Ravenclaw girl you know the stereotypical bookwork, who spends all day in the library studying, to be honest, most Ravenclaws aren't like that but stereotypes stick in how grants.

I was sitting in my room at home in Scotland doing my last final checks before we heading to England for me to get the train, my dad always travelled with me he is also a wizard compared to my mum who is a muggle, I come from one of the oldest wizard families but my dad married a muggle which of course my grandparents didn't like and honesty they still don't. My grandparents have always pushed me to be the best witch which is maybe why I spend so much time studying or at least thats what I tell myself. As a child I didn't know I was a witch, my parents raised me as a muggle, I went to a normal school and somehow never knew I was diferente to any of my classmates it's hard being friends with muggles as I loved to tell all about the wizarding world, how grants, magic but I cant with has meant over the years the friendships I had as a child broke down meaning this summer was mostly spent alone.

My bags were finally packed, and I was saying goodbye to my mother it has always broken her heart to see me go as most years to see me go, I remember when I was younger she was just when my two older brothers went off to Howgrats for the year. As left the house a couple of tears fell down my face knowing I wouldnt be home for a couple of months and not seeing my mom broke my heart, it always has I thought as the years went on saying goodbye would get easier but it doesn't.

Arriving at the platform, I saw some of my fellow Ravenclaws who I went running over to while my dad kept an eye on my bags. Cho Chang was the first girl to hug me, she was one of my best friends, the day we meant we just clicked and well five years on we are still best friends at the same time the Ravenclaw girls also gave me hugs, we were a very close nit group.

I hugged my dad goodbye before walking towards the train door, as I walked towards I saw this tall boy, with bleach blonde within seconds I recognized him as Draco Malfoy his face was blank, not one bit of emotion on his face we then locked eyes I quickly shifted my head and walked onto the train to meet the girls.

The train journey went quick, to be honest, the train journey wasn't needed for me it actually would be simpler if I didn't take it as Howgrats was only located a couple of hours from my house, but I always insisted on my parents putting on the train as it gave us a chance to catch and in the first year was where many met their friends. This year the trip had been charged with laughter and funny stories about our summers it felt great to be back with my group of friends again, as he left the train we were met with the golden trio as they were known as, Hermoine pulled me into a tight hug, we were good friends as we had spent many hours studying together, I often joked she was sorted into the wrong house. We chatted from a couple of minutes before we were forced to move, as we walked I left someone pushes past me I looked to see it was Draco, he just kept walking he seemed angry, as much as people labelled him as an evil person I forever thought deep down people didn't understand him, I knew what it was to come from a pushy family my family were nice compared to the Malfoys, many times Draco had shown his nicer side in the first years but as the years went on he just became moodier.

The last couple of hours had been spent unpacking and moving into our new dorm, luckily my roommates were the same girls I had shared a dorm with for the last four years. Once most Ravenclaws were unpacked we were all called to the common room, where our head of house Filius Flitwick called us a meeting as he did every year, the next year was explained to us, what was expected of us and other rules we had all heard the years before. After the assemblage had fished most students stayed in the common room catching up with each other, while a couple would finishing unpacking. Then the time came for the first feast of the year, we all got changed into our new ropes and made our way down to the hall, as every year the first years were sorted into their houses, it was one of the magical moments when attended Howgrats, your house becomes your family, the first years were welcomed with open arms to our house, then it was time to eat many of us were starving as with all the excitement of the new school year had made us forget to eat.

After dinner it was pretty late, so we headed back to our dorms while we walked back some first years asked us some questions which we answered and of course the first years were shown the riddle to enter the Ravenclaw dorms we all knew that the first couple days many of the younger kids would get locked out which was way many of us entered at diferente times to make sure the younger kids didn't get stuck outside as they had forgotten the riddle.
