This place was unlike any I've seen in a while. I walked within the long narrow halls, grazing my fingertips along the damp, damaged walls, covered in dirt and cracks, as the room I was imprisoned in, the hall was dull and debris scattered across the ground of the seemingly empty building. I wandered around, accumulating information about this unfamiliar setting. As torn down as it is, it was quite serene here, a spot I could find peace with myself. It was calm in contrast to what I'd gotten used to; I weakly smiled to myself.
I'd gotten away from my horrid reality for just a second, a brief moment where my past didn't shadow over me, beating me down.
"No, let him go!" A reasonably familiar voice howled out, his tone was unsettled and shaky; it sent me into an alert state. I perked up and began sprinting towards the voice I'd heard, trying to evaluate on whose voice it belonged. In a way, it sounded refreshing.
"Arghhh! Gon!" The voice choked out; I looked around frantic, trying desperately to find them, jostling open doors, inspecting into the ones that were already open.
I was growing hopeless as my hunt continued. Would I get there in time to save the familiar person? The thought pondered the back of my ideas.
"No stop, take me instead!" The boy's voice cried out; he was gasping on his words, coughing. I could hear that the male was on the brink of sobbing. I continued my frantic search for the voice.
"Killua, stop!" Another yet strangely familiar voice spoke, his tone sharpening. A loud thud pounded into my eardrums, following a gag, then coughing closely behind; presumably, this other male was choking up blood.
"Killua, Gon." My eyes grew in shock at the realization of the voices, having belonged to the last people I had left, my friends.
"Where are you!" My tone is desperate and rushed; I'd gotten no response. My running fastened, seeking to find Killua and Gon. They appeared close, yet so far, nevertheless, these hallways seem to reach longer, the more I moved. I was running through them as I tumbled over loose rocks, propelling me to my knees.
"Nonono, no, no! Gon!" Killua shrieked out, almost penetrating through my ears. My heartbeat was erratically fast, as my apprehension for the two grew immensely by second. Their cries evoked a memory of my fallen brethren, struggling. Tears began wielding up inside the sockets of my eyes. Ear-rending sobbing and heaving of a melody played through my labyrinths, as the agony struck my chest, my stomach dropped. I'd lost one. I kneeled still in place, upon hearing the laugh of someone I excreted.
"Gon..."
"Gon-"
"Gon..."
The white-haired boy sobbed out, his voice cracking the more he vocalized out the name of his friend. His yells as he mourned the other ignited through my chest, as his voice soon became suppressed and mute, I was shaking. By this point, Killua's white hair is now stained red. They're gone. I lost them. The tears my eyes collected made their way out, pickling down my cheeks silently.
I was too late.
The narrow hall seemingly came to cessation, as I stumbled to my feet, gripping the door frame for support. Tears were lightly treading to the ground. I peered my orbs up to observe the new room, my eyes meeting the gaze of another; tears began to pour from my eyes at sight. Leorio? I thought, my hand covered my mouth while a gasp escaped. I shuffled closer and plummeted to my knees once more, by the bloody body splayed across the ground. The blood came from an open wound on the male's chest. I tried to restrain my sobs as Leorio pulled his way closer to me. I shifted my legs to his head and allowed the older male to rest his head against my lap.
"Kurapika..." Leorio's tone is enervated, as he articulated. He gave a weak, sad smile. I offer a saddened smile in answer to the indisposed male, droplets forming in the corners of my eyes. My throat tightened. His aura displayed great sadness, as mine partook the same.
"It's good.... To see you..." The male attempted to caress my cheek while my tears gently dribbled onto him; I grasped his hand firmly, securing it to my face for him. I gave a shaky smile, nodding to his content, fatigued words. "Don't die on me, please, Leorio..." Tears leaked down more as I scrutinized his face.
"Take care, all right..." His voice was soft and incapacitated. I gripped his palm tighter, trying to grasp at my thoughts, observing him, my smile kept shaky; I can't lose him, not yet. I squinch my eyes sealed tightly, tears escaping from doing so.
"No, no, stay here, all right?" Tears drain from my eyes harder than before, seeing the death of my last remaining friend.
"I'll help you, ok." My breath shook, the velocity picking up while I tried to restrain myself. My eyes had been scarlet, having been overwhelmed by pulsations of sorrow. I glared into Leorio's eyes; he became more inanimate with every moment that passed by us. I clasped his hand; as he responded by gently grazing his fingers against my face, I felt the final touch of his energy withdraw from his body.
"Give up." He gave one last smile; with that, his grip went still, blood exiting his body, trickling everywhere. He was gone, the image took a minute for me to grasp.
He's gone
Gone...
"No!" My voice felt as if it shattered, like glass to the ground, breaking as I screamed in pain to my loss. I dropped his hand to pull the other's body close, putting his head to my chest. I embraced him one final time, sobbing onto him. "come back," I hug his lifeless body tighter, uttering to him.
"Please, I need you." My body heaved in pain, incapable of controlling the emotions displayed. My breathing couldn't calm down. I detected footsteps advancing towards me. I shut my eyes, shaking my head, trying to push away the picture of the person walking towards us, grasping on, holding to Leorio's lifeless body. Shortly after, the steps that inched towards me came to a pause. I felt the person's aura in front of me. My scarlet orbs flashed open to address the figure's face.
A hand coarsely pinned down to my throat, holding by the pressure points. I was too enervated to react. My body didn't want to respond. Chrollo moved his face, inches from mine, as I could feel his hot breath against my lips, the older male released a light chuckle.
"What an elegant color." He articulated sedately, commenting on my eyes, his lips curving upward to glimpse a smile. My eyes widened slightly, before reaching their baseline again, I was too drained to do anything. His hold tightened, just barely at my unresponsiveness.
"This could've been avoided, Kurapika..." Chrollo revealed to me, while I gawked into his eyes deeply. His breath was hot against my cold face; in a way, it was oddly soothing. The Troupe leader subtly shook his head.
"If only you would've given in." The Spider uttered to me, moving closer to my face, breaking the distance. It was almost as if he would put his lips onto mine. Chrollo then placed his finger to my lips, stroking them down, leisurely pulling his face away from mine. The older male stood up, turned a heel, sauntering out.
He's leaving me in this horrible place.
