Having heavy conversations
about the furthest constellations
of our souls,

and were just trying to find some meaning

in the things that we believe in...

 Percy's POV

Annabeth has a way with words. She speaks, and people listen. She can talk about architecture all day. She can talk about support structures and arches, blueprints and sketches with every breath and she'd be content. But that's not all, yes; she has knowledge but she also has passion. when she speaks its with so much emotion. Call it passion or conviction i don't care. When she speaks her soul sings.

So i guess it shouldn't have come as a shock to me that in the most important moment of our relationship of all the things that she'd ever said she goes and says something that just knocks me dead. But it did.

*earlier that day*

"Hey babe, what are your plans for the day?" I called through to the bedroom from the en suit as i was getting ready for the day. I only got a series of groans and mumbles in response so i popped my head in the bedroom and what i saw melted my heart. She looked so cute in the mornings with the sun streaming in through the window. She was laid on her side facing away from me, i could see she had on one of my old hoodies from high school. The letters JACKSON followed by the school logo and AHS across her back. Her golden hair was splayed across the pillow moved as she rolled over to look at me. Today was the day i could feel it. Today was the day i was gonna ask her to be mine forever!

"Good morning sweetheart" I whispered as i lovingly kissed her forehead.
"huum 'mornin' " she smiled sleepily. It was the cutest thing ever.

"What are your plans for today? Are you doing anything this evening?" I prayed to all the Gods that for once in my life things would go according to plan. Just once that's all i ask. If i waited any longer i might chicken out.
"humm i don't think so. Just my lecture at four, then i was gonna head to the library to study for a bit... Why?... What are you up to Percy?" Before she could get the truth out of me and spoil the surprise i loudly replied "Good, Don't make any plans. This evening your all mine."

"ooh date night? You actually planned a date night? Usually you just wing it."
"Yup, we haven't been on a real date in a while and yes i did actually plan it, well most of it, sort of. " she was giggling and Man did i love this girls laugh!

After a kiss goodbye and a promise of a surprise date i left for my lecture.

All day i could barely contain my excitement. Sure i was nervous about proposing but not because i though she'd say no, just the fact that i don't know if she believes in love like i do. I know she loves me don't get me wrong, but shes a daughter of Athena, and love isn't logical and according to her mother it isn't wise. So i don't know how she feels about love. i've hear other children of Athena say love is all chemicals, its biological and a natural reaction or a survival instinct. They tried pushing evolution as an obvious conclusion or saying love was an illusion of a hopeless heart. I don't believe it. Not when it comes to what annabeth and i have. But if that makes me foolish, hopeless then so be it. I'm madly in love with her and i'm not afraid of that.

A grueling hour and a half lecture was not enough to dampen my excitement for this evening. but i still had a long day ahead of me. There was so much to get ready. I needed to see Leo!

I received a text from Annabeth saying she was studying at the library but would be home soon. I knew that this was my chance to get everything set up while she wasn't home. I was heading up to the apartment with everything i'd bought in my arms. I nearly dropped it all trying to fish out my keys from my pocket.

I placed the telescope that id borrowed from Leo on the balcony of our apartment. Laid pillows and blankets all over the floor. It looked really cozy. Once everything looked perfect i headed back inside closing the doors behind me.

"So that's where you've been!" I jumped and almost fell backwards.
"Annabeth! What the Heck! Don't sneak up on me like that! Geez!" She was laughing as she walked closer. Wrapping her arms around me she kissed my nose. "Your cute, you know that?" But before i could reply she kissed me on the lips, a proper kiss this time. "I assume our date tonight involves the balcony?" She asked with an eyebrow raised. I could see her theorizing and planning trying to guess what was behind those doors. "You gotta promise me you wont go out there until i say so. Ok? I don't want you ruining the surprise. Because trust me you're gonna love it."

She agreed and instead we walked over to the couch, she picked up the remote and turned to the documentary channel as we talked about our respective days. After about half an hour of snuggles i decided it was dark enough for our date to begin.
"Hey wise girl, you ready for your surprise?" She looked over at me and smiled. "I was wondering when date night would actually begin was beginning to believe you'd forgotten." We both laughed as we got up from the couch, that's something i'd definitely done before so i couldn't even deny it.

I asked her to close her eyes as i led her through the apartment to the balcony. I lead her to the middle right in front of the telescope. Luckily it was a warm evening and it wasn't raining. Maybe Zeus finally decide to give me a break and cut me some slack. Either way i was grateful, the stars were bright the night was clear. Everything seemed perfect.

"Open your eyes"

She opened her eyes and gasped, looking around her smile grew. "Oh babe, i love it" when she saw the telescope she immediately walked towards it. She looked with amazement as she gently brushed her hand along it. "How did you... where... when? WOW!" I chuckled to myself at how childlike annabeth seemed in this moment how young and sweet, the look of wonder and amazement made me smile and fall in love with her all over again. This... this is what i want forever. Her. Happiness. Love. This moment is one that i'll cherish.

"you deserve the best. we haven't had a moment to ourselves in a while so i wanted to make this one special. because baby your special to me. you always will be." she rushed over and hugged me. arms around my neck face pressed into my chest. after a moment she pulled away to kiss me and i could see the tears in her eyes. "i love you!" she whispered against my lips. a silent prayer. "how do you always plan such beautiful and romantic things? your amazing! i love you."

we curled up on the blankets only getting up to move the telescope. we stargazed for hours just telling the stories of the old myths written in the sky. stories of heroes, of love, of sacrifice. it was amazing how much annabeth knew about the universe; about the stars and planets and solar systems. when she spoke about orbital paths and comets her eyes lit up and sparkled just like the stars in the sky. she beaned at me knowing i had momentarily stopped listening so i could just marvel at her intelligence and beauty. "you wernt listening were you seaweed brain?"
