The Month Before - Day 1

Hi my name is Ryan I'm 17, and this is my story about how my life got ruined...Okay I may be over exaggerating a little bit, but I had it pretty good until my best friend committed suicide. Yep my best friend for about 15 years just blew her brains out. I didn't even get a letter or a note from her. Unless she was murdered-

But anyway it's pretty crazy so buckle up.

So lets start on the month before my best friend decided to kill herself. It was just a normal day, I was walking to Jay's house -Jay is the best friend that killed herself- to pick her up for school. I walked inside like I normally do, said hello to her parents and sat down waiting for her to get ready. Then we would walk to school together like we normally do. But I could tell that there was some thing up with her. She kept messing with her hands, she only does this when she nervous. So I decided to ask her about it.

"Hey jay what's wrong?"

There was about a minute of silence before she said something.

"Oh I'm just nervous because we have a test in Mr.Gibs class, you know how I get before a test."

She replied with her nervous laugh trying to hide the fact that she was stressed out. When me and Jay got to school we sat at our table waiting for our other friends to arrive. Before anyone could arrive though, I noticed Jay was acting really weird again, even Mrs.D realized she was acting different. So when said teacher started to make her way to our table, I simply decided to kick her chair out from underneath her. She doesn't weigh that much so the chair just slid to the side of her. Now that she was on the floor Mrs.D just asked if she was ok because of her fall. So of course she said she was fine, and yes Mrs.D still yelled at me for kicking her chair. I didn't care though, at least Jay was laughing, even if it was just a little chuckle.

As our day went on some weirdo came up to us and asked if we were dating. I didn't look but I assume that Jay's face was to discussed to reply, so of course I swoped in and replied with

"NO WE'RE NOT DATING"

Only because we aren't. I can't even believe someone would ask us that, and during our lunch I was talking to Jay about it, hoping that I would make her laugh again. But all she said was

"yeah I can't believe it.." Wearing her fake little grin.

"Hey Ryan do you wanna go home early with me" Jay says

That really surprised me because normally I'm the one always begging her to leave early with me. But of course I'm not gonna be serious its my best friend. So I reply with

"whoa that's a bit crazy for you little miss".

Jay just rolled her eyes and draged me with her saying lets go.

"Where the hell are we going, my mom is not gonna lets us skip again since this is the 4th time this week"

She looked at me and smiled like she had an evil idea. She reply with

"I know a place we can go"

So I'm stuck asking myself when did she even have the time to find a place to skip.

The place she took me was quiet and pretty. It had a little pond surrounded by trees kinda like a small forest. It seems like a place she would hang around.

"Did you bring me out here to kill me?"

I said laughing at my own joke.

"Yeah I have the knife right here in my pocket"

Jay says playing along with my joke. As we both burst into laughter, I've come to realize the beauty she has when doing so. Though her laugh sounds like shes dying, I find it to be quite calming. She catches me staring at her, I look away immediately in embarrassment.

"What are you looking at, is there a bug on me or something"

Jay says as I accidentally threw her into a slight panic.

"No, no, there's not a bug on you chill out for real"

I reply, still not able to look her in the eyes.

"Oh thank god I hate bugs, with their little beady eyes and their tiny little legs"

Jays says disgusted. I laugh at the fact shes scared of bugs.

"What are you laughing at its not funny at all, what if a bug landed on you right now"

She says, sounding annoyed while rolling her eyes.

"I would simply kill it duh"

I said, being cocky against her comment.

"Whatever I'm not gonna argue about bugs with you it gives me the creeps"

Then she turns to look at the sky. I turn to look at the sky as well trying not to be weird.

"Hey Ryan do you think we'll be friends in the future"

Jay says trying to break the silence and changing the topic off bugs.

"I don't know I hope we will be but only time can tell what's in store for us, but don't think about stuff like that it only hurts the vibe jay" I said.

She smiled and laughed "well I guess it can't be helped I'm a vibe killer".

I smile and laugh alongside of her, hours have passed by now, but we just sat and talked.

"Hey Ryan it's getting kinda late, I think we should head home"

Jay said sadly. I hesitated to answer, I wanted to talk a while longer but its not like I won't see her tomorrow.

"Yeah you're right, want me to walk to home" I said releasing the tension.

"Only if you want to I'm not gonna force you to walk me home" jay replied sounding a little bit relieved. "I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you, plus we live a block from each other" I said trying to spend more time with her.

"You've got a point there, you ready to go then"

Jay said leading the way out of our new hang out spot. Once I dropped Jay off at her house it was already 10 a clock, and my mom was trying to call me.

"Hey mom what's up" I said answering the phone.

"Hey where are you at its already 10 a clock" my mom said sounding annoyed.

"Don't worry I'm down the road, I was just dropping Jay off at her house" I said walking quicker than before.

"Alright I made dinner so when you get home you can eat, but can you put it away when you're finished" my mom said as it sounded like she was going up the stairs to her room.

"Yeah don't worry I'll put dinner away, ok bye" I said as I hung up the phone with my mom. After I got home I did as my mom said then headed to bed.
