I look at my childhood home with tears in my eyes.
"What happens now?" I ask my dad.
He looked at me with hurt in his eyes, and pulled me into a hug.
After our embrace we pulled back from each other and all I could see were red and blue lights surrounding me. "Hello maam are you alright?" The nurse asked. "Oh, yes thank you." I replied lightly.A couple hours pass as I'm sitting in my dads car watching them put out the ball of fire that i once lived in. I'm not sure how to comprehend everything right now. Everything's gone. My childhood toys, gifts from friends, the last thing my mom gave me before she died. I'm never gonna be able to get that back.
It's been a few weeks, my dad said we need to go shopping today for the things we lost in the house. How can he be so calm? The only reason I'm not sobbing is because I'm in public. Ever since my mom died he's been off. He just sits on the couch and watches tv everyday. "What do u say we get something like your mom gave you?" My dad said with a hopeful smile, looking at him with a disgusted face I reply, "Do you not get it?! I can't replace that! It's gone forever..." Everyone in the store stopped and stared at me as tears burst out of now wet eyes. Running out of the store I hear my dad yell, "Elodie wait!" But I didn't turn back, or didn't reply. I kept running, and running, and running. Hours had passed sense going to the store, no calls or texts from anyone. I mean I'm not surprised, no one cares about me.
I found a park somewhere close and decided to just sit down and try to relax, that is, until I heard something. Some leaves started to tussle and out popped a boy around 14 or 15, my age. I look at him with a confused look. He just smirks and says, "Hello Elody."
