The school bell rang! Just kidding it's my alarm clock, I put it to the tune of a school bell because today is my very first day of public school. I've been homeschooled since I was a child. My single mother suggested it for me so I can be more "social". I'm extremely excited! I woke up two hours before I really had to wake up I guess I'm that pumped! Mom made her famous blue berry waffles which are my absolute fave! I had my school cloths ready from night, I slept extra early to get my beauty sleep you could say. My outfit was girly/casual. I wore a black circle skirt with a coral tank and threw a cardigan over it to keep me warm.
I got dressed and ran downstairs to have breakfast and great my mother. The smell of the waffles were to amazing to true. I leaned over to my mom to kiss her forehead. She said "Have a great day of 9th grade Bethany". Bethany's my name by the way. I replied with a geeky chuckle "of corse I will". I had my finale bite of the waffle and grabbed my bag " I'll meet you in the car" said mom joyfully. It was a 10 minute drive without traffic. Before I got at of the car my mom whispered in my ear " you are unique never change for anyone but yourself". I rolled my eyes friendly than I leaned over and gave her a hug. I got out of the car nervously. I was holding on to my backpack straps real tight the whole time. I entered the school. I looked around and all the students looked pretty mature and well...... out of my league.
A very kind old woman which happened to be a janitor, showed me the way to my home room since I was kinda lost and scared. To the walk to home room I introduced myself and told her all about me. She told me that she could relate to me a lot when she was my age. She was ABSOLUTELY so kind to me! Like I know she's old but age is just a number! She's friendly and totally down to earth! She told me if I ever needed help OR ANYTHING she'll always be in room 201 which is the janitors room.
She left. And I was alone for the rest of the day. The classroom was huge, cold and smelt like bubble gum for some reason. I sat at the front of the class. I actually wanted to sit at the back because It'll feel more calmer to me and I do have low self esteem, but all the seats were taken. The teacher entered and I got goosebumps. The teacher was a man and looked hella scary. His voice was like thunder and lightning combined together. He wore all black. His Name was Mr. Yanskey. This girl beside me was chewing gum and the teacher caught her and told her to stick it on her noise. She said "eww no" with a rude tone. Mr. Yanskey told her to at least throw it in the bin. She still didn't obey. The teacher told her to stay after class and to talk to her parents.
I have cousins that've been to public school. And they've told me that the first day of school the teachers or going to tell us about how's the year going to go and going over the rules and blah blah BLAH. But I guess that wasn't the case this year. I feel like there's something wrong with Mr.Yanskey. Because after arguing with that girl he randomly stomped his feet to the floor and left the class. The second he left, everyone took out they're cell phones. Everyone was there taking selfies and all that jazz.
I don't have a smart phone. So I thought this 'free' time would be good time to finish that novel I'm reading. It's a classic novel, it's basically a remake of Alice and Wonder Land but with a slight twist. There was a group of girls behind that started giggling and being obnoxious. I shifted my chair and politely asked them to be quite. They ignored me and gave me a rude look.
