As the light of the sunrise hit Geno's face, he squinted his eyes and groaned in annoyance, and turned away from the light, but he was already wide awake. He sighed and got out of bed stretching and yawning. He got up dragging his feet across the floor lazily as he got ready for work.

He looked into the mirror fixing his clothing, his scarf, and necklace mostly, making sure that it wouldn't fall out of it again and thus he was ready to leave. He ate his breakfast and left out immediately. He didn't realize it, but he had started humming on his way to work, it was a very bad habit of Geno to do so, he was lucky that he wasn't heard by others because of how long he was doing it. As he arrived to work, he stopped humming. He opened the backdoor, entering the shop.

"Geno? Is that you?" Mrs. Josephine called sounding very nervous and worried.

"Yes, it's me" Geno answered. "what's wrong," he asked noticing her worry. She was sitting around the table hands clasped.

"Mrs. Merl won't be able to come, so she's sending her daughter," She said, breaking the news and expecting a reaction from Geno, but he only looked at her with an oblivious and confused expression.

"What's wrong about that?" He asked as he sat down across from her.

"Don't you know?" She asked sounding shocked.

"What??" Geno asked in confusion, Geno never really cared about the information on people since he came to the city a year ago. He should've but, he didn't.

"Mrs. Merl's Daughter is a complete spoiled brat who hates Monsters..." She said sounding even more anxious.

"Wait... Everyone who works here is a Monster, plus that's where 90% percent of customers come from!" He said in realization. "doesn't that mean there's a possibility that we as workers might be fired if we mess up in any way?" He asked.

"Oh gosh... your right Geno, this is a disaster!" she exclaimed, holding her head. But Geno also knew that the staff they had in the café were very good in what they did and believed that they would get rid of good staff right? Besides these people have been working here for years now compared to him and he's seen them in action, they have been the ones who kept this place in one piece Geno smiled grabbing her hands and gripping them lightly.

"Don't worry Mrs. Josephine, let's just do our best today. If anything happens at least we tried right?" He said with a soft smile.

She calmed down and smiled back. Gently returning the gesture.

"Your right, If anything happens today we at least tried" She responded confidently.

The door opened turning their attention to it, three more monsters and one human came through the door, and they all greeted as they passed.

"Good morning Mrs. Josephine, Heya Geno," Katy said, Katy is a pink cat monster that is usually lazy and laid back in doing her job, most times she'd talk to Geno or Ciel about her midlife crisis, she usually gets into fights with a silver dog monster called Mark.

"Good morning," Ciel said softly as he passed, Ciel wasn't the talkative type, usually he'd rather listen to Katy chattering away about small happenings in her life, he does his job well and always finishes on time. He also has a skill in making the best coffee in town.

"M-Morning" Sap said quickly as she stuttered, she was a shy one for the most part, clumsy too but she tried her best to do her job and doesn't really like asking for help from others. She usually sits around Ciel because he doesn't prompt her to talk much. She sometimes can be seen with Katy but, Katy tends to be a bit overwhelming for her oftentimes.

"Good Day Mrs. Manger and Short bones," Mark said trying to compress a laugh. He was the guy who'd crack jokes sometimes when you need it and sometimes when you don't. He and Katy don't get along much. Though in some of the rare occasions they'll have a long conversation about life.
