DAY 2
Joe and I woke up very very early the next day. It was 5:00 AM, I think.
I decided to lie in the sand, my face facing towards the sky.
I got bored so I decided to open-up a topic with Joe.
“By the way, about your album, I am so proud of you guys. :) ”
Joe saw me and decided to do the same too. He’s now lying beside me.
“Thanks, and yours is doing great on the charts. I am beyond proud of you. I am always proud of you.”
“Say hi to them for me and tell them I miss them.”
“They miss you too…well except for dad and Kevin probably.”
“They still hate me.” I laughed.
“Frankie has been asking me about you though. He’s been annoying me since forever. He would come up to me and ask me about you. He misses you. He treated you like a big sister. When he found out that we broke-up, he didn’t talk to me for days. That boy.”
I smiled. That made me happy.
“And Danielle, that woman. She used to annoy me about you too. When you went out of treatment center, she’ll talk to me and would say, “Go call Demi and invite her to our family dinner.” I mean, why would I do that? She’s crazy.” He laughed.
That broke my heart. It actually hurt me that I wasn’t able to talk back. I got mad too. Strange.
“Umm, wanna play a game?” Joe asked.
“Game? What game?”
“Well. It’s not really a game but rather some kind of an interview, just to kill boredom. You’ll ask me questions and I will ask you questions too and we have to answer it sincerely.
“Oh sure, you ask first.”
“Give me one of your biggest regrets in life since you became famous.”
“Oh, maybe following my heart and trusting too much.”
“What do you mean?”
“I trusted people too much. I learned that not everyone wants to be friends with you because they like you, but because they have bigger agenda.”
“But you said following your heart and not mind?”
“Yes. I thought everyone was genuine. I thought all people were sincere but some will just use you. Some will lie to you. Some can—“
“Demi.”
“Some can even choose fame over friendship and I just lost two of my best friends.” I continued.
“Demi, stop.”
“One replaced me while the other one used me.”
“Demi!”
“What?”
“Sorry.”
