Something New

The next day, the child wakes up to find themselves in someplace crowded. So tiny, yet so full of people. Big, small, tall, short, thin, and wide. Their eyes opened wide as they had recognized someone.
"Hermione Granger?" the child said curiously. "Depends who's asking. Who are you exactly?" Hermione asked nicely, but suspiciously. "I—I know you..well kinda." said the child. "Where am I? I seem to have gotten lost somehow?" "Oh! Well this is Gilderoy Lockhart's book signing—Don't tell me you've never heard of him!" Hermione said excited. "No, I—I haven't?" the child said nervously. "Oh well that's alright! Come, let me introduce you to my best friends, they're just over this way." Hermione said as she pulled the clueless child through the crowd.
"Guys, guys! I want you to meet...wait what's your name?" asked Hermione. "Oh yeah, sorry. My name is...actually I don't know my name, my parents never gave me one.." "Oh well that's alright, we'll just call you Mira, you look like a Mira!" Ron said, resting his arm on Harry's shoulder. "Ok! Hi Harry, hi Ron, hi Hermione! My name is Mira!" she said, crossing her feet.
"Hey?? How did you know their names?" said Hermione, "I never introduced you yet?". "It's complicated. I read a series of books called Harry Potter, and you three are the main characters." Mira said, forcing a half smile. "What do you mean, you read books about us? Why don't I know anything about these books and how did you get here if all you do is read books about us?" Harry asked in a suspicious, but polite way. "I actually have no clue. The last thing I remember is falling asleep while reading one of your books and I showed up here." Mira said, scanning the room.
All of a sudden the book's story came to life before Mira's eyes. "Gilderoy Lockhart came into view, seated at a table surrounded by pictures of his own face, all winking and flashing dazzingly white teeth at the crowd" Mira's eyes glistening with fascination.
"It can't be Harry Potter?" said Lockhart in total shock. The crowd turned and stared as Harry was yanked to the front. Mira tried to grab Harry without thinking, but Hermione quickly pulled her away, "No, it's ok!" Hermione told Mira, calming her down.
After the signing the 4 friends began their search for school supplies. Though Mira is lost in which she has no money. Harry stops walking and turns to see Mira looking down at the pavement with a low expression. "What's wrong?" says Harry, meeting his eyes with hers. "I don't have any money to buy anything, how will I be able to purchase anything for school?" she replied. Harry waves Mira to come a little closer, "I have some spare Gringotts, I can help you buy everything you need." he whispers. Mira smiles and nods in agreement.
It was the last day of summer and it was coming to an end. Mira sat quietly at the dinner table journaling about her adventures with the golden trio. "Mira why don't you go up to your bedroom and get some rest, we'll be waking up very early tomorrow." Mrs.Weasley said, putting away the dishes.
The next day, while at the train station, Mrs. Weasley took Mira and Ginny through Platform 9 ⅓, leaving Harry and Ron to go last with only a minute to spare. "CRASH. Both trolleys hit the barrier and bounced backward; Ron's trunk fell off with a thump, Harry was knocked off his feet, and Hedwig's cage bounced onto the shiny floor, and she rolled away, shrieking indignantly; people all around them stared and a guard nearby yelled "What in the blazes d'you think you're doing? "Lost control of the trolley," Harry gasped, clutching his ribs as he got up." Mira has already boarded the train with Hermione. They sat in their usual spot. "Where's Harry and Ron? They should be here with us." Hermione asked, poking her head out the window. "Hmmm, I actually have no idea, the last time I had seen them was right before I crossed the barrier." replied Mira. Hermione sat back down taking a short breather to calm herself down, with her hands placed on her lap forcing a smile.
Meanwhile, Harry and Ron decided to take the old Ford Anglia. " "Hold on!" Ron yelled, and he slammed his foot on the accelerator; they shot straight into the low, woolly clouds and everything turned dull and foggy. "Now what?" said Harry, blinking at the solid mass of cloud pressing in on them from all sides. "We need to see the train to know what direction to go in," said Ron. "Dip back down—quickly—" They dropped back beneath the clouds and twisted around their seats, squinting at the ground. "I can see it!" Harry yelled. "right ahead — there!"
"Is that—the Weasley's car? Flying above us?!" Hermione asked, her face against the window. Mira glanced out the window, eyebrows raised in shock. "Hey! that must be Harry and Ron! they must've been late to the train, you know how they can be." Mira said looking back at Hermione.
Later that evening during the feast. "Wow you guys look beaten!" Mira said. "No, we almost just got swallowed by that tree out there! Mental that one I tell you!" Ron yelled, still shaking from fear. Hermione stopped eating in irritation, "Ron! Lower your voice people are staring!"
Up ahead was Professor Mcgonagall, she was placing the Hogwarts Sorting Hat on a stool getting ready for the new students.
"Hang on..." Harry muttered to Ron. "There's an empty chair at the staff table...Where's Snape?" "Maybe he's ill!" said Ron hopefully. Mira and Hermione whipped their heads towards the staff table, squinting their eyes, as Harry and Ron gossiped back and forth. "Harry spun around. There, his black robes rippling in a cold breeze, stood Severus Snape. "Follow me," said Snape." Hermione turned to Mira, her mouth stuffed, giggling as Harry and Ron cowardly dragged their feet like zombies, following after Snape into his office.
