A New Beginning...

You slowly cracked your eyes open to a pitch black room... Your bedroom. You sat up and stretched groggily, rubbing the sleep from your eyes before picking up your phone.

8:47 AM.

You sigh and sat up, knowing that today was the day you would be packing up and moving to Japan. Why you were moving to Japan? Well, its short and simple, you wanted to experience different culture, and you've been studying for the last two years to get into the best college up there! You were planning on becoming an English teacher. You don't know what sparked that interest, but, the thought of teaching young children something new and the possibility of seeing excited faces while explaining your culture made you smile.

With that thought stuck in your head, you stood and got to packing the rest of your belongings.

After a couple hours later, you were completely done and had loaded all of your belongings into the truck, you were ready to go. You slowly turned to your house, your heart weighing heavy to see the "For Sale!" sign, printed with a "SOLD". This was the first place you got on your own, it truly saddened you to let it go. You quickly turn away from your home and hop into your old white truck, rearing up the engine quickly. With a final glance at the home, you drove away and onto the streets of your neighborhood.

Moments later, you heard your phone ringing. You quickly stopped at a red light and looked at it, seeing it was your mother calling. You smiled softly as you answered, putting the phone up to your ear.

"Hello? (Y/N)???" Your mother's worried voice came from the speaker of the phone. "Hey ma." You smile, though she couldn't see it. "Are you already leaving?" She asked sadly. You sigh, "Yeah ma, but don't worry, I'll be dropping by so I won't leave without saying a proper goodbye."

You can tell by her voice that she lit up, only a little. "Great! I'll see you then sweetie!", "I'll see you then." And with that, you ended the phone call, and made your way to your parents home.

About 30 minutes later...

You arrive to a familiar home, your childhood home to be exact, where your mother flagged you down, as she was standing in the front yard. You smiled and hopped out, only to be crushed in your mother's embrace. You choke out, "C-can't... breathe..!" Your mother quickly let's you go, tearing up already, "S-sorry!! It-it's just.." She trailed off, as your father approached. "You're gonna be so far away, and there's no way we can get to you if something happens." You smiled softly at your dad. "I'll be just fine! Don't worry too much, please." Your mother and father look at each other than back at you and nod.

You exchange heartbroken goodbyes and I love yous before you had to go. It was a long ride ahead, and a long flight. You drive off and away from the town you've grown to call home, and begin your journey too Japan for a new life.
