Chapter 14: Jacks New Position

5 months had passed since Arcee and Jack had chosen the name Sumalee for their sparkling in which they were expecting to come any day now (keep in mind the incubation process take less for Cybertronians). Jack had come accustomed to Cybertron having lived their with his Sparkmate Arcee for the last 5 months, Jack had become head of intergalactic relations between Earth and Cybertron and got a new job as well as took charge of the task force that was to be sent to Earth to recover Decepticon prisoners who were on the Alchemor prison ship that crash landed on Earth.

Jack Darby's team included Ultra Magnus as the Commander with Jack being the Captain/scout, Former Decepticon now Autobot Knockout as the field medic just in case. Arcee was also supposed to be apart of the team but it was requested by Jack and Arcee that she not take part of the team as their Sparkling was to be expected anytime within the month with professional opinion from Knockout, with the team now organized the team was briefed on  what the mission was.

Ultra Magnus: Alright listen up team we have been tasked with the recovery of Decepticon prisoners who were apart of the Alchemor which had crash-landed on planet earth. In which I have been designated as commander of the operation by the high  council.

Jack Darby: Have we been able to contact any of the crew or access to manifests on the prisoners on board?

Ultra Magnus: We do have information of the prisoners, unfortunately it would appear that at the current moment all of the crew is dead until confirmed by us and of course our medic Knockout.

 Knockout: Doctor in the house.

Ultra Magnus: We will also be tasked with a secondary mission as well.

Jack Darby: What would that be Magnus.

Ultra Magnus: It would appear that one of our own Bumblebee has supposedly kidnapped two Cybertronians and fled to earth via an illegal groundbridge.

Jack Darby: What really?! Who and Why?!

Ultra Magnus: I don't know and neither does the council. But apparently Lieutenant Bumblebee has kidnapped one Cadet Strongarm which is his partner in the police and a petty crook by the name of Sideswipe.

Jack Darby: He wouldn't do something like that unless it was urgent and didn't want the council to know.

Knockout: So it would appear that the former scout has run off on a secret mission, but what exactly this mission is we will have to find out for ourselves.

Ultra Magnus: We will head out in a Cycle once the supplies have finished being loaded, I suggest that you say your goodbyes as we don't know ho long this will take.

Knockout: If I spent my time on earth for so long before I'm sure I will survive. Besides racing on Cybertron is only fun if you win so I will enjoy racing on earth again.

Ultra Magnus: If you think you are going to have any leisure in the form of racing you're mistaken doctor.

Jack Darby: Alright I am going to quickly call my sparkmate to tell her goodbye.

Ultra Magnus: Very well Darby.

Knockout: I never even got the chance to say goodbye to mine...Before he became a FRANKENSTEIN EXPERIMENT FOR SILAS!!!

Jack and Ultra magnus walked away slowly as Knockout collapsed to the floor and curled into a ball on the floor and cried as he thought about the demise of his Sparkmate Breakdown. Jack walked away as to not hear him cry and to call Arcee, Jack couldn't help but feel sad for him even though on many occasions did he hurt his friends and threatened his family, he put a hand to his audio receptor and contacted Arcee.

Jack Darby: Hey Arcee.

Arcee on Comms: Hey Jack so how is the new assignment so far?

Jack Darby: Uh not good, listen I am contacting you to say goodbye for now as I am heading back to Earth with Ultra Magnus and Knockout to look for some escaped Decepticon prisoners...As well as even though I am not supposed to discuss this with you but something is up with Bumblebee in which we are having to look for him as well.

Arcee on Comms: What?! For how long?! What's up with Bumblebee?!

Jack Darby: I don't know for how long, even Ultra Magnus doesn't know for how long, As for Bumblebee neither of us know for sure, not even the high council, but apparently Bee kidnapped a rookie cop and a petty thief and booked it for earth via a illegal ground bridge.

Arcee on Comms: That doesn't sound like Bee, what ever it is, it must be important as he wouldn't do something that drastic.

Jack Darby: Same thought here...Listen in order for us to be close and for you to be safe, especially with our little Sumalee on the way I want you to be in the care of Ratchet back at the old base. Do you think that you can do that for me?

Arcee on Comms: Who else would I want to deliver our Sparkling Jack?

Jack Darby: Love you and I hope to see you again soon.

Jack Darby hung up and walked back towards the ship where Ultra Magnus was trying to pick up Knockout off of the floor who surprisingly for Jack was still crying on the floor bawling his eyes out about his Sparkmate Breakdown.

Ultra Magnus: Get up soldier we are leaving, you can cry some more when we're onboard!

Knockout: YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD HAVE YOU NO SYPATHY TO THOSE WHO HAVE LOST EVERYTHING, A SPARKMATE?!!

Ultra Magnus: I for one do have sympathy, do you know what I have lost? Hmm do you?!

Knockout: GO AHEAD MAGNUS TELL ME, TELL US!

Ultra Magnus: I FOUGHT FOR CYBERTRON, I FOUGHT FOR CYBERTRONIANS AGAINST A SELFISH WAR FOR GREED AGAINST THE HANDS OF MEGATRON AND THE DECEPTICONS. MY JOB WAS TO PROTECT THE PLANET AND IT'S PEOPLE...AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!!

Jack Darby: Oh no, here we go.

Ultra Magnus: WE FAILED!..WE FAILED TO PROTECT CYBERTRON, WE FAILED TO PROTECT IT'S PEOPLE, OUR PLANET DIED!..TRILLIONS DIED, LIVES THAT CAN NEVER BE REPLACED, THAT CAN NEVER RETURN! LET I REMIND YOU THAT YOU ONCE AIDED THE CAUSE THAT ENDED CYBERTRON AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE...I FAILED CYBERTRON AND ALL THOSE LIVES ARE LOST TO THE ALLSPARK!

Ultra Magnus then grabbed Knockout and lifted him up and brought him to his face, knockout was no longer crying and was instead shaking as he was now scared, Jack was scared and horrified at what Ultra Magnus was doing.

Ultra Magnus: SO DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO ME ABOUT NOT HAVING ANY SYMPATHY OR BEING SELFISH, YOU SAT THEIR CRYING OVER YOUR SPARKMATE!!! ONLY CARING ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU AND NOT THE PLANET OR IT'S PEOPLE, FAMILES WERE SPLIT APART YOU SELFISH PRICK, FUCK YOU!!! 

Ultra Magnus them dropped knockout unsuspectedly and he landed with an echo clang onto the metallic floor. Jack and Knockout stared at Ultra Magnus in shock and with no facial expression.

Ultra Magnus: I want your aft on my ship right now.

Knockout: Y-y-yes sir Ultra Magnus sir.

Knockout picked himself up and ran towards the ship. Jack and Ultra magnus then followed suit and once the three of them were on board they got into their positions. Ultra Magnus in the captains chair and Jack and Knockout on the ships controls and blasted off towards Earth.
