Chapter 2: 🏖Lake Day!🏖

Audrey POV:

I felt the grass under my feet when I walked next to Melvin. He took my hand as we looked at everyone in the lake. He took my chin and faced it to me. He smiled and kissed me. Then my stupid alarm started to ring. I smashed my alarm and mumbled,"Gah stupid cute Melvin, it was just a dream..." I check my clock that I smashed and yelled,"HOLY MOLY HORN-I-CORNS-A-MOLY I AM LATE!" I grabbed my purple bikini I had ordered online a few days ago. I put it on and grabbed my beach bag which had my phone, sunscreen, my umbrella, beach ball, a water bottle and towel. I brushed my hair and threw the brush across the room. I had no time to go downstairs so I jumped out the window. I landed on my stomach but kept on running. I made it to the lake I panted,"I... am... here..." Dot came over and giggled. I stood up and said,"What's so funny?" She said,"You got that to impress Melvin didn't you? You like him." I felt my face turn bright red and said,"Huh? Me? Whaaaat? Are we talking about the same Melvin? Hehehehehe..." I tried to ignore her 'TELL-ME-THE-TRUTH-AUDREY!!!" Look. I felt my face turn to its normal color. Then I saw Melvin. Then he looked at me. My face turned red again and I walked away. I grabbed my towel and put it next to Lotta's. She said,"Hi Audrey!" I replied,"Hi Lotta. How's life in Cincinnati? I am sorry we haven't been visiting more often." I got my water bottle and started drinking. "It's okay, but I miss you guys.", she said,"So are you dating Melvin?" My eyes became bigger and I spat my water everywhere. She said,"Umm..." I coughed a bit eventually I said,"What?! No." "I am not dating him but I want to.", I told her in my head. I said,"Umm, I am going to swim." I said pointing at the lake. She stared at me probably still shocked at the fact I spat everywhere when she mentioned Melvin. Oh great, Dot had already figured out I like Melvin it'll be even worse if Lotta finds out to! "Uhh, bye!", I said. I ran away and dove in. Everything was muffled under water. I slowly rose up. But my foot got stuck, I was so close my nose was under the water but my eyes, forehead, ears and basically everything above my nose was above the water. I was yelling but nobody heard. I saw Melvin, he was running towards me. That was the last thing I saw. When I woke up I saw Melvin's eyes. His mouth was on mine. He lifted his lips away and I gasped. "Melvin?", my first word was. "YAY!", everyone yelled. I coughed up some water. "I am alive, I AM ALIVE! Thank you Melvin!", I said. He smiled at me. I smiled back and pulled him back for a kiss. I... have... been... waiting... for... that... moment... my... entire... LIFE!

Dot POV:

I am confused, are they dating or not?

Melvin POV:

I stepped back. "Audrey?", I said it was like she had forgotten we were surrounded by basically everyone on Harvey street,"What was that?" "No reason.", she said,"I just wanted to. I should go home now." Everyone walked away. "Can I walk you home?", I asked Audrey as she rolled up her towel. "Umm uhh okay.", she replied. We left. I was helping Audrey walk because swimming that much was a lot on her legs. We weren't making eye contact. We just walked in silence. I eventually said,"Audrey?" She looked at me. I said,"I-I like you." She smiled and said,"Correction Melvin. We like each other." I smiled back.
