CHAPTER 14

NOAH'S P.O.V

At that point, nothing made sense anymore but I knew Ramona was behind everything. I know Cassie wouldn't be beating her for no reason whatsoever. I vaguely remember seeing a small bottle filled with a clear liquid but I when I came too after biting Cassie. The very thought sends chills down my back. Waking up to a half dead Cassie is not something that i'd ,want to go through again. That mystery bottle is the answer to all my questions. Slowly I made my way to the one place I know Ramona is always hovering around, the upstairs koi pond. Not because she loves watching them swim around, that sounds like something Cassie would enjoy, she likes to play around with them testing her vampiric abilities on them.

I find it absolutely sickening because it kills them sometimes and almost every week a new tank of koi are put in the pond. Just as I suspected, she is near the koi pond this time testing her compelling tricks. "Ramona?" I begin "What the fuck did you do?"

"Why are you so mad" She asks with a sick grin. " I am not about to play your sick games, just tell me what the fuck happened inside my closet, why did I have that sudden urge? Tell me everything right now!" I demand. Instead she just looks at me with the same sick grin and then struts towards the door. " follow me if you want to find out". And with that she sped off. I had told myself that I will not play her silly little games but I also promised Cassie that I will get to the bottom of things and that is what I intend to do. I follow her scent into her room and I am not really surprised. There she is sprawled on her bed waiting for something.

I should have known her intentions was to get to me. Ramona has had the biggest crush on me ever since I first arrived at castle Marmoset. She was just but a little girl then but she followed me everywhere and then she blossomed into a beautiful young woman just a few years later and I must admit I was smitten by her. The thing that made me keep off her was her Langford-like personality. I saw her go from sweet and precious to mean and pretentious. I watched her drain blood from tens of her slaves in days. I completely detest that so I stayed off her company, only that, made her want me more. I would catch her laying in my bed naked. That very day I got security locks for my chambers, but no matter how much I tried to avoid her, she found a way to get me and that's when I sold Langford the idea to make her study abroad. Ever since she came back my life has been a living hell. I thought the time away would make her forget that stupid little crush but all it did is grow it.

Langford, even up to date advocates for our love but one thing I know is that I will never get involved with her. Yes I have been forced to go out on dates with her multiple times, but in all honesty I think I slept through all of them.

"Tell me everything." I say as calmly as possible even though my blood is boiling.

"Your skin is so tan baby boy, I can see you got rid of that pesky little slave that was forcing herself on you. I did you a favor honey." she says so sure.

" Your stupid plan did not work, what do you have against her anyway? she has never done anything to you." I say and watch the color drain from her face.

" you want to tell me that bitch is alive?" she asks shocked.

" I don't really understand what your problem is Ramona. What do you have against her anyway?"

" I see right through you Noah...you like her and don't you deny it. I can sense it from a mile away!" She spits venomously.

" You are obviously out of your mind like always. I don't like her." I say but even I don't believe the words coming out of my mouth.

" No I'm not Noah, and my remind you that she is my father's slave, so don't get too comfortable with her. "

" Just stay away from her. Whatever you are thinking in that demented head of yours is not accurate."

A small dark resonates from her chest. " I'm not stupid Noah and I have been alive long enough to know that there is something going on and if not it will. You allow her to wear your clothes when I have never set foot in your room for more that ten minutes. She sleeps on your sofa she washes herself in your shower you are basically a couple." She says and holds her hips.

" Do you know why I never allow you to be near me, because you are crazy Ramona.. you have choked her and tried to get me to kill her. Oh and may I remind you those countless times you've broken into my bedroom and slept in my bed naked? " I say and her demeanor changes.

" I really love you Noah why can't you see that? "

" Love ?" I ask in disgust " you don't love me, Ramona, you are just out of your mind and I'm done tolerating that shit."

She says nothing and knowing her,I know it's not the last time I hear from her. This is a war I have started because I know she will not leave Cassie alone, but I'm ready for her.  I have received news earlier on that Langford would be extending his stay for a few more months and that gave me time to think about what I would do to ensure Cassie stays with me wether in Castle marmoset or not.

" Now if you will excuse me, I have more important things to do than stand around bickering with you. Leave her alone Ramona, I don't like her like you think but I don't love you as well, you don't need to hold something against her because Killing her won't make me adore you, it will make me hate you. So leave her the fuck alone. " I finish and speed off.

I know that last statement will buy me time to figure out what I need to do in order to keep her craziness away from my Cassie.

I smile at  the thought.

It's now late in the afternoon and I need to finish the work I was doing before Ramona called me.

My office is just near town and it's not really an office. It a place where I place my jacket and charge my phone when I need to.

My work is basically to cover Langford's tracks.  He might be the High Lord but he is dumb as a door nail.

Hunting in the wolf territory was his idea too and it didn't go so well. He angered alot of wolf packs in the area and they wanted to get revenge. There is a law against going into wolf territory to hunt be his stupid ass just did it.

Langford is afraid of something and in yet to figure it out but I'm very close.

A wolf pack leader storms into my office just as I'm about to leave for the field.

" What the fuck Noah??" Bruce, the leader of nearly the biggest pack in the country says. Two of his wolves are by his side growling at me.

" First of all Bruce tell your boys to calm the fuck down."

They stop growling and stand completely still after he gestures something to them.

" Second of all, you know damn well I had nothing to do with the hunts going on. "

" Sixteen of my girls are missing, probably dead in a dungeon somewhere. What the fuck I'm I supposed to think Noah. No, what I'm I supposed to do. We backed off when we were told to. For years none of us broke any of your stupid rules and then you come to poke us!"

" I know it's bad Bruce but I'm trying to fix it."

" Fix it ?? How in the hell are you going to fix it? This is not a threat but a warning, you, better than anyone understand  how wolves work , we backed off when we were told to we never interfered with anything that had to do with Langford and his Lords. But you came looking for us and kidnapping our girls!! For what? Do you think we will sit around and do nothing, this ...this won't go unpaid for. Mark my words Noah!"

He says and storms off.
