The stars

As we were walking back to our cabins, I got an idea. I ran up to Griff and tapped him on the shoulder. "Oh hey Nathalie." He said "follow me" I said a little mysteriously

Griff's POV

Nat said to follow her so I did. We ran out to a nice clearing when she stopped and said "We're here" "sooo what'd we come out here for" I asked "Well, I figured, since we're in Maine that we could look at the stars. I thought you might like that after all that time in Juvy." She said a little shyly. I smiled at her and she smiled back, I started blushing a little but I don't think she noticed. Thank god it was dark outside.

 We sat down on the grass which was surprisingly comfier than our bunks. We looked up to see a MILLON stars. It was a new moon tonight so they were extra bright. I haven't seen this many in a long time. I looked over at her and saw a look of pure wonder in her beautiful brown eyes. "So Nat. Can I ask you a question?" I asked "yeah, what is it?" She replied "what's your family like? I mean, besides your brothers." I saw her face fall a little "Honestly, kind of tense. My mom died when I was little and since then, my dad has held us to extraordinarily high standards that I am a little afraid that I can't live up to that." She explained kind of sadly. I kind of wish I hadn't asked, I didn't want to ruin the mood. She then smiled a little as if remembering something "But then, there are my cousins. I have like a million of them but I am closest with Peter and Christopher. They are brothers, we always have nerf gun wars and build pillow forts." She said happily "we play in teams and since I am the smallest and fastest among my brothers, I am always wanted on a team, it is usually me and Peter vs Christopher, Noah, and Connor but sometimes it switches." She continued with a big smile on her face which made me smile too. 

We went back to looking at the stars when I said "Thanks." "For what?" She asked "For giving me a chance when no one else would. Growing up, I never had many friends so this is a nice change of pace." I said gratefully "well, I think everyone deserves a chance, or a second one." She said chuckling a bit at the end. 

Nathalie's POV

As we were star gazing, I thought about, well, everything. Griff brought up some questions that made me contemplate things. Yes, we did live in LA. But it was out further in the hills where there was a huge facility. We had lived there since I was 5. It was filled with training zones, what to do in natural disasters, how to properly evacuate a building, mainly just ways to fight and save people. 

Me and my brothers haven't left the facility since we were sent there, so I haven't seen a real sky since age 5. Only simulated ones. Now, you may be wondering how my family had the money for all this? My mom inherited a fortune from a great uncle, my dad want to use it to build the facility but my mom wouldn't let him claiming that we should live normal lives. Once she passed away, my dad inherited the money and did all this.

We got 2 days off from training once a month. We usually used those days for visiting, the family members that could make it would come when the family reunion rolled around but Peter and Christopher came frequently. This was a compromise our dad made so that we would never have a reason to leave the facility.

I soon got pretty tired so I laid my head on Griff's shoulder and started to dose off. Right before I fell asleep, I saw him blushing deeply.

Connor's POV

Nathalie and Griff had been gone for a while, I was worried. So I decided to go look for them. I know Nat can handle herself in pretty much any situation but under these specific circumstances, I was pretty concerned. I ran through the forest tracking Nat and Griff's footprints, it was pretty dark so I took off my contacts to let my enhanced sight do it's thing. Once I found them in a clearing, I saw Nathalie sleeping on Griff's shoulder. HELL TO THE NAH!!! SHE IS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ANY SIGNIFICANT OTHER UNTIL SHE IS AT LEAST 17! PLUS WE BEARLY KNOW GRIFF!! I ran up to them and scooped up Nathalie so quickly Griff hardly had time to process. He looked around confused for a second but when he squinted his eyes at me, he recognized me. "Oh! Connor, it's you! Thank god your here, I was having fun but I actually don't know how to get back to camp." He said as he stood up an awkwardly rubbed the nape of his neck.

"I know the way back but you'd better stay away from my sister! She is NOT having any romantic relationships until much later!" I growled at Griff. "Uh- no! I- I don't think of her like that, man!" He said nervously, I knew he was lying but I think he got the memo. 

Griff's POV

When me and Connor were walking back to camp, it was really dark and I could hardly see anything. As I was walking, Connor stopped me abruptly so I asked him why "you were gonna walk into a tree." He said. I felt the air in front of me and there actually was a tree there! How did he see that? We continued walking back to camp and I stuck really close to Connor. I looked at him and noticed that his eyes were a little odd, almost like they were glowing. Weird right? Anyways, once we got back to Grizzly cabin, Connor set Nathalie down in her bed and went to sleep as I got in mine and just stared at the ceiling for a little while.

Man, what a day. I felt my eyes get heavy as i slowly drifted off to sleep.

OMG!! Guys, I am soooooo sorry for not updating. It's been a really long time but I have just been so busy recently.

I applied to a new school and I actually got it!!! I'm so excited but stresses because if I don't pass the year with honors, they can revoke my place. Luckily I do have good enough grades to keep my place at the new school!
