It was 7:30 in the morning! Butterbean just opened her cafe 30 minutes ago, and was already serving her 3rd customer!
Dottie: May I please have a yogurt parfait?
Butterbean: Sure, coming right up!
All of a sudden, Jasper walked in!
Jasper: Good morning, Boss!
Butterbean: Good morning, Jasper!
Jasper had a big crush on Butterbean, but he didn't tell anyone, because he thought it'd be kinda inappropriate since she's his boss, but there was just one more issue! His co-worker, Dazzle had a HUGE crush on him, and she made it KNOWN! Every morning, she'd greet Jasper with a new nickname, which made him very uncomfortable, but everytime he tried to tell her, he'd get interrupted! Speaking of Dazzle, she just walked in!
Butterbean: Good morning, Dazzle!
Dazzle: Good morning, Boss!
Then, she looked, and saw her not so secret crush!
Dazzle: Good morning, Jassy Boo!
Jasper: Uhhh...good morning, Dazzle! Can I tell you something?
Dazzle: Of course you can, My Little Jassy Wassy!
Jasper: Ok, I don't want to offend you, but it makes me really uncomfortable when you–
Butterbean: Hey, Jasper?
Great, he got interrupted AGAIN!
Jasper: Yes?
Butterbean: Can you please deliver these breakfast sandwiches to my dad's workplace?
Jasper: Sure!
Cricket: Can I come?
Jasper: Of course you can, Cricks!
Just like that, Jasper and Cricket left to make their first delivery of the day!
Dazzle: Bean, I can't take it anymoreeee!
Butterbean: Take what?
Dazzle: Jasperrrr!
Butterbean: Oh God!
Dazzle: HE'S JUST SO CUTEEEE!!!!
Butterbean: Ok, calm down, haha! Actually, Dazzle, can I talk to you about something?
Dazzle: Sure, what's up?
Butterbean: Wait, before I tell you, you must promise me 2 things!
Dazzle: Ok?
Butterbean: Number 1, don't get mad, and number 2, PLEASE don't tell ANYONE!
Dazzle: Ok, I promise!
Butterbean: Look, I really like Jasper too, but it's kinda inappropriate since I'm his boss!
Dazzle: But...but that's MY Jasper! You can't like MY Jasper! I'm sorry, but if you steal him away from me, I'm going to quit, and I'm going to find a way to get him fired, so he'll be with me, and not you! You're not even good enough for him!
Butterbean was taken back by Dazzle's words!
Butterbean: I thought you promised you wouldn't get mad!
Dazzle: I promised I wouldn't get mad, because I didn't think you'd tell me that you like MY Jasper!
Butterbean: First of all, he's not YOUR Jasper, and second of all, you shouldn't have gotten mad no matter what it was I told you!
Dazzle: How can you do this to me?! I thought we were best friends! I swear, Butterbean, you better get over him, because if you don't, I'm going to quit working here, and I'm going to quit being your friend! Look at how much prettier I am compared to you! Honestly, if he chooses YOU over ME, that just shows he has HORRIBLE taste in women!
Butterbean's heart just sank to the ground! What possessed her best friend to say all this stuff to her?
Butterbean: Well, if you're going to continue to say all this rude stuff to me, then, I don't need you working here, and I certainly don't need you as my friend, so please leave!
Dazzle: I WILL!
And just like that, Dazzle left, and never returned!
Butterbean replayed that whole conversation in her head, and got more and more hurt with each word that came out of Dazzle's mouth! Butterbean ran to the back room, and started crying!
Butterbean: Dazzle's right! I'm NOT good enough for him, and she IS much prettier than me!
All of a sudden, Poppy found her!
Poppy: Hey, Bean, I got the...Bean? What's the matter?
Butterbean: I have to tell you something, but please promise me you won't tell anyone!
Poppy: Pinky promise!
Butterbean: Ok, so I have a crush on Jasper!
Poppy: Ohhh boy!
Poppy knew about Dazzle's obsession with Jasper, so when she heard that Butterbean liked him too, she knew this conversation wasn't going to end well!
Butterbean: Yeah, and I made the stupid mistake of telling Dazzle!
Poppy: Uh oh!
Butterbean: Yup, and what she said to me was something you should never say to anyone, ESPECIALLY to your best friend, but since my self confidence is very low, I believed every word that came out of her mouth!
Poppy: What did she say?
Butterbean: She told me that if I "stole" her man, she was going to quit working here, and quit being my friend, and then, she went on, and on, and on about how I'm not good enough for him, and how much prettier she is than me, and blah blah blah!
Poppy: WHAT?! She said all that to YOU?! How DARE she?! I swear, if I find her, I'm going to give her a piece of my mind! You're BEAUTIFUL, KIND, and HARDWORKING! How RUDE, and how much of a FAKE friend can she be?! Also, don't you DARE believe a SINGLE word she said! Like I said, you're BEAUTIFUL, KIND, HARDWORKING, and SOOOO much more! Keep your head up high, Girlfriend! YOU. ARE. WORTH. IT.
Butterbean: Awww thank you so much!
Butterbean gave her TRUE friend a big hug!
Poppy: Awww no problem! Also, one more thing!
Butterbean: Yeah?
Poppy: Why don't you want me to tell anyone that you like Jasper?
Butterbean: Because it's a little inappropriate since I'm his boss, haha!
Poppy: Hey, love is love!
Butterbean: Yeah, I guess you're right, but still, please don't tell him! If anyone were to tell him, I'd rather it be me, because I'm the one with the crush on him, haha!
Poppy: True, very true! Ok, I won't tell him!
Butterbean: Thanks, Girly!
Poppy: Not a problem!
Finally, Jasper and Cricket returned from their delivery!
Cricket: Hey, Poppy!
Jasper: Where's Butterbean and Dazzle?
Poppy: Dazzle left, and Butterbean's in the back room!
Jasper: Oh, Dazzle left?
Poppy: Yup!
Jasper: Thank God, haha! Ok, let me go check up on Bean!
Butterbean heard a knock on the back room door!
Butterbean: Come in!
Jasper: Hey, Bean!
Butterbean: Oh, hey, Jasper!
Jasper: What's up?
Butterbean: Eh, nothing much!
Jasper: You sound sad! Is everything ok?
Butterbean: No, but it's a long story!
Jasper: I'll stay here, and listen to everything you've got to say, don't you worry!
Butterbean: Dazzle said some words that REALLY hurt me!
Jasper: What?!
Butterbean: Yeah...
Jasper: What did she say?
Butterbean: Before I tell you what she said, I have to tell you something else!
Jasper: Ok, what's that?
Butterbean: If this makes you feel weird, I apologize, but I really like you!
Jasper: Wait, you do?
Butterbean: Yes, I do!
Jasper: I like you too, Bean!
Butterbean: Really?
Jasper: Yes, I thought you wouldn't like me back, because you'd think it's kinda inappropriate since you're my boss, but here we are!
Butterbean: Haha, that's exactly why I was afraid to tell you, but yay, I'm so glad this worked out well!
Jasper put his arm around his crush!
Jasper: Me too! Now, what did Dazzle say?
Butterbean: So, I told her that I also liked you, and then, I soon found out that that was a very bad idea, because she got FURIOUS!
Jasper: Oh no!
Butterbean: Yeah, she was saying that if I "stole" you from her, she was going to quit working here, and find a way to get you fired, so you'd spend more time with her, and not me!
Jasper: Oh my gosh!
Butterbean: That's not all!
Jasper: No?
Butterbean: Nope! Then, she proceeded to go on, and on, and on about how I wasn't good enough for you, and how much prettier she is than me, and that if you chose me over her, it'd just show that you have horrible taste in women, and all that stuff, but what hurt the most was...I believed it! I believed every single word she said!
Jasper felt his heart break into millions of little pieces! He couldn't believe Butterbean felt that way about herself! He gave her a kiss on her head, which made a few butterflies enter her stomach!
Jasper: Please don't think negatively about yourself! I know people say that nobody's perfect, but I believe you're perfect! You're beautiful, kind, hardworking, and soooo much more!
Butterbean: Haha, that's what Poppy said!
Jasper: Well, she's right!
Butterbean: Aw, thanks!
Jasper: You're welcome! Hey, Bean?
Butterbean: Yes?
Jasper took his admirer's hand!
Jasper: I love you so much!
Butterbean leaned in, and gave her lover a kiss right on his lips!
Butterbean: I love you too, Jassy!
