Ch. 1 A New Beginning

"Just leave me alone!" I yelled as I stormed out of Collen's house. I reached the mailbox when I felt a hand grab my arm so tightly I was sure it was going to leave a bruise. "Paige, you have to believe me! I would've never had sex with that girl if I wasn't drunk. I had no control! Please forgive me! I love you!" I looked up at him nothing but anger in my eyes. "If you loved me you wouldn't have even considered having sex w-with that whore!!" I started to walk away when his hands grabbed me again. All of a sudden I felt an explosion of pain rush into my cheek. It felt like a thousand needles stabbing me at the same time. "How dare you treat me like this!? You are my princess! I treated you like one!!" Tears started building up in my eyes but I held them back. I had to show that I was strong. Done with his bullshit. I started pushing him with every once of strength in my body. I began fight back. "Does a princess's prince hit her? Does he make her do things she's not comfortable with!? Does he abuse her continuously?! No he doesn't! You are not my prince, and I am not your princess!" He grabbed my arm and began to overpower me when someone yelled. The pressure released on my arms and I looked over. It was his neighbor. He had a shotgun in his hands pointing it at Collen. "You leave this young lady alone, you hear!" Collen backed away. I looked back at him. My cheek still stinging, my arms hurting and yelled, "It's over! Lose my number and forget about me! If I even as so much get a text from you I will report to the police every thing you done to me! Everything!" I began to walk away for the third time and he finally let me leave. I walked up to the old man holding the shotgun and thanked him. He invited me inside and told me to stay there until someone could come and get me. He said it wouldn't be safe to walk alone after what just happened with him. I agreed. I know Collen better than anyone, and he would follow me. I followed the old man inside his home.
