(A slight change in POV,  just because it'll make it easier for me... it all rhymes... oh crap well it doesn't now.)

Sidney hops off of the bus, glaring daggers into the back of Derrick as he nonchalantly strides towards the school building with his friends. Her hands ball into fists. "Should I fight 'em? I'm gonna fight 'em."

Your eyes widen at her words. She is known for doing reckless things, but this is a little much for her. You go to protest and reason with her, but before you can say anything, she loudly calls out to Derrick. "Hey dick!" She barks, starting to angrily take out her earrings. "(Y/n), hold my hoops, I'm 'bout to pound this man to hell."

Chucky strains to listen, slowly nodding his head in agreement. He likes the spunk this "Sidney" girl has, even if she does seem a little odd sometimes. That whole "sensing" thing made him feel uncomfortable. But besides that quirk she's a good balance for you, he concludes.

He would love to see this whole thing unfolding, and your reaction to it. Just the thought of your shocked face makes him snicker quietly to himself.

You blink, feeling Sidney's dangly, silver earrings being placed in your hands. You look down, puzzled, attempting to process what's going on. It's happening so fast; your tired brain needs time to catch up.

"Uh, wait! N-no, there's no need!" You blurt out in a stutter, worry in your squeaky tone. It was rude what he said to you on the bus, but you don't want anymore attention from him and would rather get through the rest of school without him noticing you.

You grip her shoulder as she lifts her fists at Derrick, her seeming ready to pounce on him and slam him to the ground. The male glances back and merely chuckles in response, shaking his head while turning away from you two, continuing into the school like nothing happened.

Sidney huffs at his reaction, gritting her teeth. "Shadow people will follow that wuss home, I'll make sure of it." She asserts, swiping her earrings from your hand and sliding them back into her piercings as she continues to glare daggers into Derrick's back. You go to question how she'll be able to make sure that really will happen, but shove that thought away in an attempt to ignore it in all of its oddity.

You release a sigh of relief, slumping your shoulders dramatically. "If you're going to fight, make sure you have a proper medical person nearby, okay?" You breathily ask, giving your friend a pleading look as you pat her shoulder. "I'd rather not have to try and drag you to the nurse by myself." You explain in a whining tone, letting your hand slide off of her shoulder as you meander towards the large building.

"The only one you'd be dragging to the nurses office is that dirty, dumb, dick-of-a-dude Derrick." Sidney says with a sneer as she trots to your side, scrunching her nose up in disgust. You glance at her with pure confusion. How she comes up with such names for people, you will never know.

She cheekily grins at you, flashing her bright pearly whites with genuine joy gleaming in her eyes. "Name calling is a true art very few possess." She states with a serious tone and a firm nod.

You blink, then let out a sigh, allowing a happy smile to grow on your face. You shake your head, unsure how she read your mind like she did.

"You know," You start with a content sigh.

"I will never understand you."
