This anime made me cry so hard towards the last episode. It's a really depressing anime, but I still love it. The first episode starts off with the main antagonist, Otonashi (it's later revealed that his first name is Yuzuru) waking up in a place he's never seen before. The first person he sees, is a pinkish-purple-haired girl named Yuri, who is aiming at a white-haired girl who's called "Angel" with a sniper rifle (Her name isn't actually Angel, her real name is later revealed to be Kanade Tachibana). Otonashi asks Yuri why she's aiming at Angel, to which Yuri tells him that she's on his side and that Angel is the enemy NOT her.
Later in the epsisode, Otonashi joins Yuri and her group of other teens who've also rebelled against Angel. The anime does have VERY sad moments, but it makes up for it with it's humour. I won't spoil too much, but there's only 13 episodes. I'm serious, there's only 13. I recommend that you watch it, and when you do, make sure to grab some snacks and a box of tissues before you start watching it~!
