Your Heart Is Mine

I am here in the cafeteria right now, eating lunch with my friend Chloe. Chloe loves talking and she has a very loud voice while I, on the other side, am the opposite of her.

We are currently having a little chit chat while eating when a male student approach us, " Uhmm, we are in same class. May I join you two?" He asked with a awkward smile.

Chloe giggled "Ano ka ba? Oks lang! By the way, I'm Chloe and this is my friend Shanel." replied my sociable friend excitingly while pointing her finger at me. The guy was staring at me and it was no friendly stare. His eyes gave me chills. No, maybe something is wrong with me? I can't explain this feeling.

"Oh, I'm Jake!" he replied and shook Chloe's hand, still staring at me. But it seems Chloe doesn't want to take her hands off so...

"Great, Chloe lets go" I said then hinila ko si Chloe. Either something is wrong with me or the guy. I... don't like him.

"Chloe, mag-ingat ka. Hindi maganda feeling ko sakanya." mahinahon kong sabi sa kan'ya.

"Huh? Why? He seems ok to me" Chloe replied.

"Basta" I said while looking at her with a serious face.

After that day, feeling ko lagi nang may nakatingin sa'kin at nasunod everywhere I go. Was I being paranoid just because of the encounter in the canteen? I don't know.

Ang naging resulta, lagi akong nagpapasama kay Chloe. Pati na sa paguwi ay nagpapahatid ako sa kan'ya. Kahit nakain kami sa labas o papasok, 'di nawawala ang pakiramdam na gano'n. But, makakasigurado naman ako na safe ako, nalilibang den naman ako sa daldal ni Chloe tuwing magkasama kami.

We are now heading in locker section but Chloe lost her key, so hinanap n'ya pa. Nauna na ako. When I opened my locker, an envelope fell on the floor so the obvious move was to pick it up. Binuksan ko ito and it has a letter ---

" I am always here. Wherever you may be, whatever you may be doing. I am by your side."

Sa sobrang gulat ko ay nahulog ko ito at bago pa ako makapag-isip ay tumakbo na agad ako palayo sa lugar na 'yon. It was fucking creepy.

The whole day, wala ako sa sarili and I'm still disturbed. What more, ako lang magisa uuwi kasi nauna si Chloe 'cos she went home early of fever. Lutang na lutang ako habang naglalakad. I don't know what I'm doing right now.

'So this is my unlucky day.' I exhaled then smiled, a bitter one.

3rd Person POV

In the dark, obscured road, someone is hiding in the dark silently watching and waiting for the right time. The victim, without any knowledge, is slowly walking towards the dangerous path.

~BLAAGGGG~

The guy sat up after regaining his consciousness, in the dark old room with his hands and feet chained. His eyes meandered the space, and that's when realization hit the confused guy.

"Tulong, tulungan n'yo 'ko!" he is trying to escape, he shouted in hopes that someone will help him out, or hear him, even. Someone hear his shout!

"Oh Jakeee! Anong ginagawa mo dito?" A voice worriedly asked the guy, Jake.

He turned to look for the source of the voice. It was Shanel. "H-help me please!" pagmamakaawa ni Jake, but suddenly a question popped up in his head, what is she doing here?

Clearly visible in Jake's face, you can see the confused look. An evil smirk come out from Shanel's face. "Jake, kailangan mo ba ng tulong ko? " Shanel said in teasing tone.

Shanel suddenly gave Jake a kiss. The latter, with his all might, tried to interrupt the touch.

"Fuck, what are you thinking? Ano ba 'tong kalokohan na 'to?" Jake finally was able to furiuosly shout.

"This is not a joke, love." Shanel said while laughing, as if Jake was the one being ridiculous.

"There is one thing that I need, your love!" Shanel added. She then caressed the chained guy's cheeks.

"You love me too, right? That's why you were stalking me everywhere. I know everything, Jake." Her cheeks were flushed, she was dead in love with the poor lad to the point that she became delusional. Though, not totally.

Jake's eyes widened. "It wasn't you that I was stalking. I love Chloe. It's not you and would never be you. So please, let me go!" Jake replied.

"Ano bang meron sakanya? Ano bang wala sa'kin? Hindi mo alam kung gano kahirap dumikit ng dumikit sakanya para lang madama ko 'yung presensya mo!" naiiyak na saad ni Shanel, laking sorpresa ang mga salitang yon kay Jake. The girl in front of her is insane.

"Hindi mo alam kung pano ako magtimpi para wag s'yang patayin. Oras oras na nakikita at nabubwisit ako sa mga tawa n'ya, the more na gusto kong kumuha ng kutsilyo at balatan s'ya ng buhay, at saksakin s'ya!" sigaw ng babae.

"Hindi ikaw si Chloe and you will never be her. I already told you that I love her and not you, you fucking psycho!" Jake shouted and again struggled against the chains.

"Hindi ka naman n'ya nakikita, bakit hindi na lang ako? Bakit s'ya pa? Bakit hindi na lang 'yung locker ko 'yung lagyan mo ng sulat? Bakit hindi na lang 'yung akin? Bakit? This is so unfair! All I want is you thats not too much." Shanel groped her head while crying. What she's showing right now would be a perfect textbook example of a person out of his mind.

"Tumigil ka na at wag na wag mong saktan si Chloe, Shanel. Alam mo na ang sagot, hindi ikaw ang mahal ko at ayaw mo maniwala!" Jake explained still trying to make the twisted woman understand.

"You leave me no choice. If I can't have your love then no one else can. I'll have your heart." Shanel, full of tears in her face, said while playing the knife in her hands. She mouthed, 'sorry. I love you.'

In a short period of time, the knife already stabbed the chest of Jake. Jake died with his two eyes open. Using her naked hand, Shanel grabbed the heart inside Jake's chest the she ate it.

After that, she had a realization. Despite having Jake's heart, looking at his dead eyes, you can see that it doesn't change the fact the he only loves Chloe, and Chloe was the one he loved until his last breath.

Shanel's POV

"Your heart is mine" I said while looking in his dead eyes. But then, I realized that even though I already have his heart, his eyes still shout Chloe's name. My eyes started wetting. I wiped my tears along the blood around my mouth. It's his fault he died. It's his fault. If only he gave me his love, he wouldn't have died.

Until the end he never chose me. His heart is mine but Jake himself will never ever be mine. He's gone forever.
