This is a flashback and does have something to do with the main story. This regards Norton's backstory.
This is a figment of the past.Warning: the story might be short and not make sense. That's because I'm not sure how to write his backstory. So I apologise in advance, I'll remake this all eventually if I feel like it. Other then that. Please enjoy. (Also) I might start doing some one shots of tonton when I feel like it. But will continue the main story.
Anyways. Please do enjoy.
-----------
They did express their regret at not being able to keep me longer...
But I will say one thing.
That gold will be MINE. I will earn their trust in the end. And betray that...this was the only way to get rid of his pain.
Norton campbell, a miner who worked hard almost everyday, first one to arrive. Last to leave. He worked hard though. Some people did notice however. But was amazed with his work.
Work report: Norton campbell has always been the first to go down to the mines, and the last to leave it.
"Norton, maybe you should take a break?" A worker said staring at Norton.
The miner took a quick glance at the other worker. Then continued to work.
"Considering you've been working hard since I gotten here. Always the first to go into the mine and last to leave it." The other worker made a good point. But then norton stared at them again.
"Eh...it's no big deal honestly."
"Alright then...make sure to rest if you do feel tired. Alright?"
"Uh huh, you say that almost everyday, I'm starting to lose Interest." Norton sighed. Then continued to work.
"You know, I'm glad you are here though. You are an amazing person. I'm actually thinking some of the other miners are sad you couldn't stay long."
The worker made an excellent point."I appreciate that, but I'm not staying."
"Alright alright."
"You are a great miner however. Why not just stay?"
"I appreciate that, really. I do. But I don't think I can."
A week past by.
A stack of letters of recommendations was on a table
Stating that: It can be seen as every employer Norton had worked under is impressed with his diligence and willingness to learn, and expressed regret at being unable to employ him for longer periods."You are a great worker Norton! I'm kinda upset you can't stay long."
"Ah, as much as I wanted to. I have other places to be. I do apologise however.
The miner stared at the person. Before walking off.
"Sure could have used someone like him, huh?"
"Yep...damn it why couldn't he just stay..."
"Agreed..."
A few weeks again has pass by. Repeating the same thing "I wish he stayed!" - "I wish he stayed." - 'i wish he stayed', the same words almost everytime. Norton was still being helpful at a work house also while working at mines. But did he enjoy this however? No. This was for his profit. That's all he really worried about. His own profit.
