EDIN Hills: Jamie Angelo's Adventure Journal

     06:46 AM

    The drive here to Edin Hills was a long one from Arizona. I didn't realize it would be so foggy, if i did then I wouldn't have driven here today. When I got down from my car I almost immediately got chills, but not because I'm cold. It was almost like something was watching me from the intense woods of Edin. I calmed my nerves, garbed my things and began the hike.

07:25 AM

      The forest is so dark I can hardly even wright. Earlier I heard something in the bushes but I mean what did I expect, this is a forest there are bound to be animals. Maybe that's why people went missing in here they just weren't better prepared. Lucky for me I came with a pistol, no animals will try to get me now.

   The day has been long and I feel like my watch is off a few hours, even though our time is only off by an hour in Arizona. I believe that setting up camp right now would be a good idea. I don't know what things roam here in the morning or at night.

08:37 AM

      I set up my tent and currently getting ready to unpack my film equipment. I brought a small dollar store camera to take pictures but I feel like it wont be of much use due to this poor lighting. I saw a few glowing yellow dots in the distance I think they are fire-flies. A very pretty sight to see those lights dance around in this dark area, very uplifting.

09:00 AM

      I am currently a bout half a mile from camp. I haven't seen those glowing lights in 13 minutes. Its almost like they just disappeared, or they didn't even exist at all. I know I'm not going insane because I only got here three hours ago.

     The forest hasn't gotten any lighter. It is only getting more thick. The only thing I've seen in a while is trees and rocks. My flash light is running low so I might have to go back to camp soon for more batteries

1:00 PM

   I came back to the camp site which was surprisingly harder than expected. I could have sworn I went north from where the camp was but I can never tell with how dark it is in this forest.

   I think i heard something a little bit a go but until I can find the bag with my batteries I cant investigate. I cant help but get the feeling that I'm not alone, which I know but I feel like the glowing dots from earlier where watching me. Probably just my imagination but I still feel on edge.

3:00 PM

   I decided to eat lunch for a while and take a nap for all my walking I did today. But now I have my batteries and I am going to try to find the lights.

3:20 PM

   It is starting to get a little bit brighter but not by much. I think I just saw the lights a few minutes ago just 50 degrees west of my position. I don't think my flash light batteries are almost dead cause I just replaced them so I am going to go follow the lights.

   I have a bag full of water bottles and energy bars so I'm packed for a long trip. I will follow the lights and update in at most 2 hours

5:20 PM

  I have finally made it to some where that the sun shines. Its a small spring with a little waterfall. It looks almost magical. The water flowing and spraying enough that there are small rainbow. I also see this deer looking creature. I think I see it has a skull for a head and greenish fur with pinkish dots. Its eyes seem to be glowing yellow but not like the lights I saw earlier. It looks like it has two regular horns and two little nubs on its head right on bottom of the horns. It almost looks like a regular deer but its green and has a skull for a face.

   I think it noticed me.

   It just ran away. Before I can even get a closer look. (UPDATE TIME 5:40). Man I might just have to bring my stuff here but it has been almost 5 hours since I left so I either camp out in trees or head back to camp. I don't know what could be in the trees so my best bet is to get back to the camp wake up early and bring my stuff here. So will be back by at most 10 PM

  9:40 PM

   I just got back and I saw the glowing dots again. But I also saw a giant shadow which wasn't the forest. I couldn't see all of it. It could have been a tree.  I highly doubt it based on what I've seen so far. It has been an insane day but I have to get up early tomorrow. Tomorrow seems very exciting and I look forward to it.
