Sorry this chapter is so short, I just wanted to start working on the Ed angst part of this, since I thought it was going to be fun to write about, and it is!

(A few days after the last chapter)

Edward was suppressing the urge to cry yet again. He didn't know why, considering that he was fully aware that the people he was "friends" with were going through worse, and they seemed fine. All he knew was that it was stupid.

As much as he wanted to believe it, he couldn't continue turning his sadness into anger. Sure, it had always worked before, but that didn't mean it always would.

He looked at the bruises on his arm. They were from a few days ago. He just sat there, staring at them, contemplating doing it again. It's not like anyone would notice, like they would with cuts. He learnt this as soon as he started.

Geno had noticed the cuts while Edward was washing his hands, and asked him about it. He told him they were from Barry's cats, his brother believed it, it never happened again.

He snapped out of his thoughts as he realised tears had started to stream down his cheeks. He wiped them with his hand, which resulted in stinging his eyes. He screwed up his face and leaned his head back against the wall of his bedroom. He just wanted this to end, goddamnit. He felt weak, vulnerable, and hopeless like this.

It was going to take a lot of self restraint not to take it out on someone the next day.

Chris was laying face down on his bed, clearly tired.

"C'mon, Chris! We've gotta find an alternative to your cutting!" Charlie was sitting on his brother's desk, one leg hanging off of it, the other being used as an armrest. Chris lifted his head and turned it towards Charlie.

"What, are you trying to get me to find a different way to self harm instead?"

"No, you dumbass, I'm saying that-"

Footsteps.

Charlie hid under the bed, and Chris froze, his breathing uneven.

He could barely move, until the footsteps slowly faded into silence.
