Chapter Ten

After the show, Harry was hanging out with his band, Mitch and Sarah.

I didn't want to bother him, but I didn't really have anything else to do. Alex had already left, and I was pretty much caught up on everything I was supposed to do. I was somewhat on track with my homework, and Alex hadn't given me anything pressing to do.

I decided to walk over to the hotel, hoping that my suitcase was waiting there for me. I text Kelly, trying to see what she was doing. Maybe I could hang out with her tonight. It would be good for me to make friends with the other people on the crew, I couldn't spend all of my time with H, and I didn't really want to be alone. Kelly answered and invited me to hang out in her room. She said she would ask Rachel too, and I was excited. My bag was in my room, and I stopped in to drop off my bag with my notebooks and my computer before I headed over to Kelly's room. I slipped my phone in my back pocket as I knocked on Kelly's door. She answered, and I could see that Rachel was already in the room.

It was good to hang out with them for a couple of hours.

They were pretty normal girls, Kelly was 24, and Rachel was 26. They were both friendly, and I didn't mind spending time with them. They filled me in on the tour gossip. Mitch and Sarah were dating, though they hadn't told anyone yet. They weren't exactly subtle, but they just laughed and said they were good friends whenever anyone asked them about it. Josh, the tour manager, had just gotten out of a messy divorce, and it seemed like maybe Kelly had a thing for him. Or perhaps I was reading into things. They didn't say anything about me and H, and I was grateful. I didn't want to lie to them, and if they were to ask me right now, I would probably not tell them the truth. It was partially out of necessity, though. I wasn't sure what the truth was between us. I had no idea what we were. I liked being around him, I enjoyed spending time with him, but we were in such unsettled territory. We were more than friends. Friends didn't have drunken make-out sessions that result in both of us being practically naked. But we weren't dating. Calling it friends with benefits didn't seem to fit either because there weren't really many benefits.

I left Kelly's room around midnight, heading back to my room to try and get some sleep. We had tomorrow off, which I was looking forward to. We were leaving tomorrow night for Berlin, but we had most of the day to ourselves. Alex had tasked me out with some things to do, but it wasn't much. She had already left for Berlin tonight. She had some things to get done and wanted to get a head start on them. I wasn't complaining. I liked her, but whenever I was around her, I felt like a slacker. She worked at a mile a minute, and it was hard to keep up at times.

I was almost asleep when a text pinged on my phone. I didn't need to look. At this hour, it would surely only be one person. I turned on my phone, burning my eyes with the bright light.

H: Are you still up?

E: Almost.

What's going on?

H: Open your door.

I got out of bed, rubbing at the corner of my eye as I opened the door for him. He walked in, looking me up and down for a minute before shutting the door behind himself.

"Did you get all dressed up for me?"

I looked down, remembering what I was wearing.

I was in an oversized tee, the writing too faded to read, and my panties. I wasn't wearing a bra or any pants. Hopefully, no one in the hallway saw when I opened the door.

"No. I was in bed, almost asleep. What's going on?"

"Nothing, I just... I just wanted to be with you."
