When I woke I had that lost feeling of not knowing who or where you are. Trying to move I felt resistance and my first instinct was to struggle. Trying to pull my arms free I screamed as my left arm felt like it was being pulled off. Looking down I saw that my arm was pulled and twisted obviously pulled out of socket. I was hit with another wave of agony and I thought I was going to black out again. Gritting my teeth I looked back at my shoulder squeezed my eyes shut. Pulling myself up with my right arm I dropped and yanked on my left arm. With a dull pop my shoulder clicked back into socket.
I started to panic again when I felt something slither around my left arm but looking I noticed it was just the shadow. It started squeezing my shoulder and I felt the pane dull some. Now that I was calmed down I looked around the room. All the glass in the room was cracked and some pieces had fallen out into the floor. The chain on my right leg was broken half way, the rest of my limbs just dangling from the chains. Looking at myself I saw my shirt was in tatters and peppered with signed holes although there was no evidence of any fire.
“Is someone gonna untie me?” I croaked out to the empty room. My throat felt like I had been gargling shattered glass. The rock rippled and seemed to melt away. In the new opening was my mother with a worried look on her face. She rushed in and with a wave of her hand the chains still around my hands and foot trembled and shattered into thousands of tiny metallic shards. I fell to the ground as gracefully as I could.. which meant I fell straight on my face. My arms and legs felt like jelly, refusing to support my weight. Artemis was suddenly beside me rolling me over onto my back and helping me up. I managed to remain standing with a little support from Artemis.
Once my head stopped spinning we staggered into the kitchen and sat down. My mother set a bowl of what smelled like mashed potatoes but I was too hungry to care. Sirius padded into the room and plopped down beside my chair. He whined and I dropped a spoonful of the potatoes into his bowl near the table leg and he wasted no time eating. Silvus took the seat in front of me. “do you remember anything?” he asked. “No just the same beach and that stupid glass wall.” This got a reaction from the demon, the first emotion I’ve seen him express. “what glass wall?” he demanded. Instead of answering I stood up and looked at the remains of my shirt again. There wasn’t really much of it left and it was starting to get itchy so I tore off the tatters left. Too bad I had liked the shirt but it gave me a chance to stretch my wings. The shadow unwound itself from my shoulder and stretched itself around my chest then under my left arm and back over. It kept doing this until it had stretched itself into something that resembled a shirt. Shifting my wings I notice I can easily move my wings through my new shadow shirt. “cool” I say to myself.
Turning to Silvus I say “ It was just this big glass wall on a beach I’ve been dreaming about.” His face seemed troubled. “Let’s go” he said. Standing up he started to walk out of the kitchen. “hang on a sec where exactly are we going?” my sister eyes lit up with anticipation. “the prince and I shall go to the Xemnas tomb. Alone.” She slumped down in her chair pouting her lips. “No” I replied plainly, checking my watch “I got stuff to do.” “Oh right its Tuesday, I can’t come today, sorry.” Artemis said “I need to go take care of some things, bye!!” she called while darting out of the room. Maybe Silvus had some kindness in his demonic being or maybe he could tell I didn’t care much about his little road trip, but he leaned back in his chair and said “very well we shall leave tomorrow at midnight.”
By this time I was already at the door. You coming? I thought. Mash potatoes are good. I heard Sirius say in my head. When I looked over I couldn’t help but grin when I saw him licking globs of potato off his face. He couldn’t really talk since he was still an animal but I could hear his voice in my head and get flashes of emotions. I guess it was just a demon thing. “Don’t forget lunch” my mother called after me. Grabbing a plastic bag by the door I waved goodbye over my shoulder with Sirius at my heels. Walking out the door I launched myself off the balcony and into the air. I felt my wings pass through the shadow as I spread them and shot into the sky.
