After signing up for everything Collin and I separated for first period. He would go to history and I would go to science. But, on my way to science, one of the Panthers from last year started to walk towards me.
"Look here hon. You, are never getting in to the panthers. So don't sweat it!" She pushed me slightly and I bumped against the locker as she walked away with her high pony bobbing up and down. "I'll only try harder now." I muttered under my breath.
What do I do about her? I thought of this in my head but school was over and I had my tryout for the Panthers. Let's just say it went really great. Until the girl who had come up to me earlier shouted that I had ripped my jeggings. You could see my entire thigh and everyone laughed, even the coach.
I stood up and took a bow, casually walked out, and when I was finally in my car, broke down in to tears. I heard a knock on my car window and I wiped my eyes.
"Hey." It was a Panther speaking to me as I rolled down the window.
"Please. Did you really come all the way to my car to tease and laugh at me?" I gave her a stern look and she only returned a sympathetic one.
"I'm Katie. I came to apologize for everything. The team shouldn't treat you like that."
"I beat they don't care. It's not like I'm their teammate." I fiddled with my thimbs.
Katie nudged her head towards the building. "Well I thought your routine was advanced, and pretty amazing. Maybe you should check the results. They're posted." She smiled as I opened my car door.
I smiled back as we followed each other to the gymnasium. "Right over there? Right?" I pointed at a bulletin board that could possibly hold the audition results.
"Yeah." Katie smiled. "I'll go with you for moral support."
I looked back at Katie. "Thanks." I chuckled. I wish collin were here. I thought in my mind.
Katie lead me over to the bullwtin board and pointed at the correct paper. I focused on the paper and read the results.

PRACTICE: TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS

I almost jumped and Katie gave me a friendly hug. "Welcome. Panther." The last word cheered me up.
"Thank you. I'm so excited to start!" I didn't want to sound stereotypical, but being a cheerleader was important to me. Maybe I could gain popularity, or even a boyfriend. I shook it off.
"Well, I should go." Katie gave me a pat on the back, a wave, and a friendly smile as she walked through the doors.
The next day I stayed after school for practice. Collin poked me before I left. "Hey, Katrina! I thought we were getting frozen yogurt today? And doing homework?"
"Oh." I stuttered and played with my hands. "I'm sorry...I have...other plans." I fake smiled and he grunted.
"Fine." Collin walked away and Katie came running from the other end of the hall.
"You're going to be late for your first practice. C'mon Katrina, let's go!" Katie pulled my hand leaving a scratch.
"Ow." I followed her almost tripping over the people in between us in the halls.
She opened the door to the gym and there were different girls all laughing as I entered.
"Hi...Rippy." Laughed the one with the ponytail that bobbed with each move.
"Oh were giving nicknames, are we? That's rude." Katie gave a stern look to the blonde girl with her ponytail.
"Haha. I'll give you one too." I clenched my fists.
"Shush! It's not like there's anything wrong with me. It's impossible to give me a rude name." She giggled and ran her fingers through the hair being held up.
"Whatever you say...." I laughed and so did Katie.
"What? Why are you laughing?" The girl growled.
I whispered a name to Katie and she giggled and nodded. "Oh nothing. Nothing that concerns you, Banana Ponytail." I smiled as the other cheerleaders laughed.
They ran to start they're warms ups as Banana Ponytail growled and pranced after them. Katie and I smiled at eachother as we followed quietly.
