LionClan is ruled by a king and queen, unlike having one leader with nine lives. LionClan kings although often make most decision making, the queen also helps with making decisions. A lot like a lion pride, the king can have all the females he wants, including his queen, and a majority of the clan is made up of females and the king and queen's offspring. Challengers from outside the clan can overthrow the king if they are strong enough to do so, if the Challenger wins, he kills off all offspring of the previous king, and the queen if he wants. The first to start this tradition was a Tom named Lionfluff, the first king of LionClan. He, along with many other cats, thought that this way of life was more functional than a normal clan.

•°•|Explanation of Roles|•°•
Assassins carry out secret missions for the king, whether to spy on someone outside the camp or take out a Challenger secretly. They can also be assigned to spy on new clan members that were formerly rouges, Loners, or Kittypets.
Hunters are responsible for hunting food for the clan, they are expected to hunt at least twice a day to keep every one including themselves fed.
Warriors are the ones who are charge of patrols and combat, making sure that the camp is safe and secure.
Broodmothers are expecting mothers or mothers take care of the King's offspring. Since the King can have multiple mates at a time, most of these kits will be the King's offspring. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE HEIRS, HOWEVER. Heirs must come from the King and Queen of the clan, the firstborn being the first in line for the throne.
Challengers are male Rouges that wish to challenge the King for his throne, if they are able to get the King to tap out or kill him, they become the new King. If there are multiple Challengers on the night of the challenge, the Challengers must fight to the death with each other until one remains. Then THAT Challenger battles the King for the throne.
The Executioner is a cat that in charge of killing cats for the king, most often failed Assassins or the prior King's offspring. But they are not limited to just killing Assassins and former heirs, they can kill whoever the King says they want them to kill.
