She lay awake,
her fear trying to escape.
Attempting to be free,
to run wild in the darkest parts
of her mind.
She stared at the wall,
Whispering a prayer like a plea,
Let the monsters stay in their cage
Locked in the shadows
Far from action.
Far from truth.
Far from the option of evil taking root.
Make my mind a fortress,
Desires to dangerous to reach my heart,
With a mind so dark,
and a heart so pure,
The soul is trapped on a turn table of right or wrong
Of love or loss
Of freedom or peace
The mind chooses freedom
The heart chooses peace
The heart choses love
The mind only fear is grief.
Only one shall win,
But as she lies awake
Staring at the wall
She cannot help but wonder
Which will make the final call.
