In the far lands of Royguard, where mystical creatures like nymphs, fairies, elves and even unicorns and dragons, but also witches that use dark magic are real, a happy couple of two young adults was celebrating their son’s birth. The little boy had raven soft hair, pale skin and storming gray eyes. He was studying his parents with curious gleaming eyes.
“Oh, Edward! He is so beautiful! He has your hair.” the mother whispered. She was slim and tall, with long dirty blonde hair, gray eyes and high cheekbones. She was most likely 22 years old.
“You are right, my darling Emma. And he has your eyes.” the father replied with a loving look on his face. He was also tall, well built with messy raven hair and dark brown eyes, almost black. He was a little older than his wife, 24 years old. “How should we name him?” he asked.
“I was thinking about… Alphonse?” (FullMetal Alchemist reference ^^)
“It’s perfect! Our little Alphonse.”
Four years after the happy event, Edward, the little boy’s father, had to go and do his job: hunt and kill the dark evil creatures that have fun killing other species, especially humans. This is a Hunter’s job.
Another three years passed by and, unfortunately for the little family, Edward has never returned home, leaving the 7 year-old Alphonse wondering what had happened to his dear father.

On Alphonse’s 12 birthday, his mother invited her neighbour, Trisha DiAngelo, a young woman about 32 years old, to celebrate together. Trisha didn’t come alone tough, she brought her beautiful 11 year-old daughter. She had long light blonde, almost white, hair, stunning blue eyes and pale skin, just like her mother. Alphonse was very happy to meet someone around his age.
“Hi! My name is Alphonse Palmer! Nice to meet you!” he said with bravery. The little girl hid behind her mother, but after Trisha gently pushed her forward, she replied:
“Uh… hi. My name is Maya DiAngelo. Nice to meet you, too, Alphonse!”
“I am very happy to see you getting along, children!” said Emma. “Alphonse, would you like to see what I got for you?”
“Yes! Presents!” he squeaked, then rushed over to his mother to see a very beautiful black bow made of the best wood in her hands. A black quiver with also black arrows laid on the table. His eyes widen and he jumps to hug his mother.
“A bow and arrows? This is the best present I could have ever asked for! Thank you, Mom!” he cries loudly.
“I am glad you like it. But, I also have something from your…” Emma hesitates a little “father.” she smiles a little then goes to take something from the back of the room. She came back with a gorgeous silver sword with a black dragon engraved on the handle, the sacred sign of the Hunters.
“Your father wanted you to have this sword when you were old enough. And I think now is the perfect time to give you this. He would be proud.” his mother smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek and Alphonse grinned widely before taking the sword from his mother and studying it with his always curious eyes.
“I’m going to try the sword and the bow. Can I, Mom?” Alphonse asked grinning even wider if that was possible.
“Of course you can, sweetie.” his mother smiled.
“Yes! Maya, do you want to come with me outside?” The girl only nodded a little before smiling and going out with a very exited boy and soon to be best friend.
“Emma, do you think it is wise to let your son ‘play’ with such dangerous weapons?” asked Trisha.
“Do not worry, my son knows how to shoot a bow and how to handle a sword. He wants to be like this father,” replied the mother
“a Hunter.”
