'My name is Jules, a high school student. My friends say that I am the God of all games. Gaming is my life. It’s really fun playing, especially with your friends. When you are playing a game, you could just forget everything and do everything it takes to win a game. But there is this one game that I lose every time, that game wherein when you lose, you can’t re-spawn, you can’t go back to where you last saved or have extra lives. And this one game that we play every day, the game we call “Life”.

In the game of “Life”,  there are lots of players online. It’s impossible to play as a “Solo player”. There will always be a friend that will support you.

It all began on my first day of school. I was moving to a new school and was excited to go on my journey to meet new friends. Woke up, well-rested and it felt like it’s my lucky day. I wondered that even though I stayed awake all night playing my favorite game, I didn’t feel lazy or sleepy. It was then I realize that my I didn’t set my alarm clock. Hoping for a miracle, I rushed to school looking exhausted and wishing that I must not be late.  Thinking it was okay, I went inside the room hoping the teacher won’t notice.  I was about to close the door when I saw the teacher writing on the board, thinking that I would sneak to a chair while he’s busy. I didn’t think that closing the door silently would be easy. I didn’t know that a single door could make my first impression to my new teacher.

        “Well…What do we have here?”

“Good morning sir! Good morning classmates, I’m sorry I’m late.”

        “Your name is?”

        “Jules! “

“Class, Let’s give a round of applause to our very first tardy student. “

Standing all alone at the back of the class while being mocked by my classmates, I can’t even say sorry. All that I can pray for was, it to be all over.  My prayers were answered when a loud knock was heard on the door. As it opened, another late student came in.

“Sir, Good morning, I’m sorry I’m late.”

“Since you two are late, you two will be the cleaners after dismissal.”

I was relieved that I was not the only one who was late. I thought that I should return the favor to the guy who saved my life. After the dismissal and cleaning the room, I invited him to eat outside. It was then that I got to know Felix. Felix was someone who would always give someone a smile on your face because of his sense of humor and funny behavior. Every time we talked, he would always crack jokes and act silly and funny. Also, we instantly became best friends when we discovered that we both play the same game.

Every time after class, I, he and his friends would play games. He was always there for me too. Not only that we make a good team on games, we are also a good team on making projects and group works. All of this would never happen if I was not late on the first day of school. We were best friends until now. We made a promise that even though we may argue a lot, our friendship would never break.

In the game of “Life”, we could interact with other people especially the other gender. Our life would never be exciting if there would be no romance. Everyone has a love story of their own. Some are waiting; some already has their own while the other ones gave up finding someone that would love them. My love story was the sweetest thing that I could remember.

It was February, Valentines’ day. Everyone was busy with their date. I ignored the fact that I had no plans this Valentines’ day. I was so bored. All of my classmates were on their dates and I was just on my house playing my favorite game for hours. Then, Felix called me. He said that he was in a basketball match in the school gym and needed a refreshing drink for the team. I logged out and head straight to the gym carrying the cold water for the team. As I entered the gym, there were not much people but there was my friends cheering. I sat down with them but wondered that why didn’t I join the team. Even though I was tall, I could not join the team because I was too busy playing games during the recruitment. My friends just laughed and continued watching the game. After the match, Felix said to come with him to the gym locker. On our way there, we bump to his girlfriend, Trisha.
