Adel always thought Sebastian was adorable. And not in the lovey-dovey sort of term used between couples but maybe as an older brother whose maturity had gone wrong. I mean, he did have some queer amosity towards cats. And herself.

"Ciel? Are you there?" She called, cupping her heads around her full lips.

She wouldn't go as far to say she was best friends with the butler in any way. No, because Ciel already filled that position and she saw no point in upsetting the boy.

She sighed, letting her hands fall to her side. Ciel obviously hadn't heard her cries. Adel was outside the manor and was waiting to come in. Despite being the closest of acquaintances, there were still manners of etiquette to uphold, especially as Adel was a woman and the era in which they lived looked down on them significantly.

"Bertram? What do you think of Ciel's tardiness?" She turned to her own butler. He was an adequate young man, neither particularly bulky nor lanky in any way. Adel couldn't complain, however. He was good with handling cases as large as hers.

Bertram coughed into his sniffed. You grimaced as he pulled a thread of snot away with it. "Perhaps he has simply forgotten, Madam."

Adel scoffed. "I doubt it. I'm his friend, he ought—"

She gasped as she felt a cold wind scrape the back of her neck and lift the lengths of her skirt an incredible amount. She screamed, pushing it down as Bertram flushed.

"Terribly sorry, Miss Adel." She froze, knowing the voice all too well. "Did I keep you waiting?"

"Sebastian!" She sighed, pushing down the locks of hair that had flown in his rapid advance to stand before the two. She hit his shoulder lightly, though she barely reached his bicep. He practically towered over her.

Adel cracked into a grin. "How have you been faring? Well, I hope."

Sebastian bowed, wicked grin cast on his features. Handsome, she noted. "I only hope you are in excellent, madam, as I have not been well without your company."

She giggled a little, letting him practice flirting on her. Adel was determined to find someone for him, someone he could be happy with. "You flatter me so."

When he stood, he was quick to grab her hand. His face settled into one of satisfaction, a slight smile tipping the edges of his mouth. Bertram scoffed behind his mistress, as Sebastian had left him to bring his mistress's bag up to manor without any help.

"Adel!" She turned her head in curiosity. Her face soon brightened, more so than when she'd greeted Sebastian. You slipped your hand from his tight grasp—gentle man like—and rushed to meet your best friend.

"Ciel!" You cried, basically jumping into his arms, not yet out stretched.

He stumbled back as he caught you. His face a bundle of thinks layers of clothing that Sebastian overlooked with a a gaze of sincerity.

"God, you ought not to leave me waiting for so long. We're friends aren't we?" You pouted, bottom lip sticking out so far it reached the tip of his nose.

Sebastian coughed in the background, and when you turned slightly his darks were dark. They stared like little beady spider eyes.

Ciel's eye shifted to his butler at the sound. "You're telling me my butler did not entertain you so?"

You scoffed, pushing yourself off Ciel. "Of course he did, Ciel." You started walking back to the manner and motioned Ciel to follow you.

"The thing is though, he's not—!"
