Promise

Chapter 6

A new day has arrived. It has been weeks since that incident occurred, but I still couldn't remove him from my memories. Tears will start falling again if I think about Jimin.

Dad and Mum were shocked to hear this news. They contacted me on a daily basis to make sure I'm fine, and also to leave a piece of their mind for me.

"Ring ring ring..." See, they've called again.

"Still missing Jimin?" Mum asked. "I understand how it feels to lose a friend," I didn't dare to utter a word, afraid that I might break down into tears again.

"Let me ask you Taehyung, Jimin is a cheerful child, always spreading happiness to everyone around him, am I right?" I replied yes, indeed, he is that kind of person.

"Do you think he'll be happy to see someone he cares about crying like this?" I was deep in thoughts. He wouldn't be happy if he saw us like this... Sadness seems like it doesn't exist in his dictionary.

"I guess you know what to do next. I've got to do my work now, bye son." Mum said in a gentle voice before hanging up the phone.

At the field, where the sun shined as usual, where the wind blew to make the trees dance gracefully, I brought along Jimin's kite. As I flew the kite high in the sky and looked up, Jimin's angelic smile seemed like it appeared in the beautiful blue sky. This time, it ain't tears rolling out, instead a smile built up on my face.

"Jimin ah, please don't forget about our promise, promise me that we will be soulmates forever, okay?"
