*POV: Sona*

I've been falling...for what feels like 30 minutes. The small slit of light pink light being broad daylight hitting cherry blossom trees above withdraws before I can think to question why it's even still visible after all this time. If I've really been falling all this time, it should be long gone, right? Not to mention, I'm surprised I still have the ability to think straight, considering I could become a splatter of blood and bones at literally any second. It's why I'm too scared to look below me. If this is how it ends, I would rather it hit me unexpectedly, so I can live out the remaining time of my life, if even just a few more seconds, in my mind, where I've been most reliable since the beginning. I can't even describe how it feels down here, though: when I think "warm", it suddenly starts to feel cold. If I think "cold", it becomes hell-hot. It's like...a weird sorta limbo fluctuation, I guess. It's as if the very space itself, if anything, doesn't want to be known as anything at all. Nothing stays as it is, even for a moment.

Even with my confusion on this, however, I distract myself from my thinking long enough to tempt myself into an upright sitting position in midair. If Death is gonna make me sit in the waiting room, I'm pulling up my own "chair". Take a seat, Death. Take a seat, just over here.

About 3 more minutes in, I feel a small chill ride up my spine, quick enough to where you would freeze from the shock, like a bug darting up your back with it's little stick-feet. Suddenly, I feel the temperature around me (if it's even fair to say there was actually temperature at all) turn stable, and gravity loosens it's grip on me. My eyes widen upon realizing this, and I reflexively stick out my dominant leg in what I think is my body assuming it's nearing solid ground. Wouldn't this just break my legs? There's no indication at all that I'm actually nearing any kind of platform, so instead of trusting myself, I instead feel around with the same leg, trying to find...well, anything I can physically touch.

As I'm doing this, however, a speck of lime-colored light forms about a few meters in front of me, lighting up the void. I almost feel safe just looking at it. However, my relief is quickly replaced with confusion, as the speck rapidly begins to expand, as if it were a balloon on a helium tank. I think to back up, just in case, but I find that the one instant I was distracted caused me to lose my focus. Trying to recover, I prepare my dominant leg once more, only to awkwardly greet newly-discovered solid material with an odd dance that looks like a frightened crab's scuffling. I've been off solid ground for at least 10-20 minutes, though, so it's possible I was gonna screw up regardless. Still stumbling as the light continues to expand, I immediately move backwards in a steady, backwards waddle-like motion.

Just as I actually get to move on my own, though, the light reacts. It has no face, and yet, I'm hit with the random idea that it's looking directly at me...not that there's much else besides my ugly face to look at here. I gasp out loud as it abruptly begins to approach me.

...Or, I guess it would be more accurate to say I tried to gasp; no sound came out at all. Come to think of it, there's nothing here at all, and since sound needs something to travel though, I guess I can't talk. Does that mean I can't hear anything, either? I didn't hear anything falling down this way, so I'll have to keep that in mind.

My thoughts are cut short by the realization the light, which is still growing, is getting faster, and is chasing me at high speed. I get roughly enough time to turn and start sprinting for about 5 or 6 seconds, before I feel myself shoved down to the ground by a strong force. Could have been the light: I dunno. I don't usually look back to see who's chasing me, I just get the hell out of there, because I'm not dying to some random guy on the street.

I find that hitting the ground doesn't hurt: my sense of touch in general doesn't seem to be working. I literally feel nothing. Even so, I try to pick myself up off the ground, only to find myself pulled off the floor by what I think is the same force, and for the slightest of moments, I believe I'm dreaming, and that I'm going to wake up; find out that the boss just found me, and plans to put me down right off.
