The following day quickly approached. The King will be meeting Alpha Hendrix for dinner in his home tomorrow. Since Alpha Hendrix informed me of the arrival of the King, I have been working non-stop on making sure his home is spotless. Since I am the only maid in Alpha's home, the workload is left all on me.

After finishing up scrubbing the baseboards, I walk upstairs to prepare the guest bedroom. Alpha wants me to make sure I prepare to room on the opposite side of the hallway from my tiny room on the second floor. He does not want the King near me out of fear that I will embarrass him or destroy whatever alliance he is trying to make.

I speed walk down the hallway and arrive at the room I will clean and dust for the King. It is a huge room, but it is not as large as Alpha Hendrix's room on the third floor. The main part of the cleaning to be done is dusting. In my eight years of living with Alpha, no one has ever visited his home for an overnight stay. Most business is usually taken care of in the pack house, but Alpha does not want the King staying amongst our entire pack, in fear something will go wrong.

After dusting the entire room, I go to change out the sheets and blankets to fresh ones. When finished cleaning the guest room, I run to my room to get ready to go to the pack house. I am meeting the maids of the pack house in order to arrange the dinner and servers for the King. I walk downstairs and meet the guards that have to accompany me to the pack house.

Alpha keeps me on a tight leash and does not let me go anywhere alone. I assume he thinks I will either run away or tell someone about how he treats me. Aside from his guards that he is buddies with, no one knows about the abuse I go through. The pack just thinks I am a normal maid like the ones at the pack house. Whenever I have to be around other people for my maid duties, the guards attend to watch where I go and what I say. It is hopeless anyway; no one would ever believe me over the Alpha. If they did believe me for some reason, he would probably just punish both of us.

I hop down the stairs and approach the 3 guards at the front door. Staring at me with no words, Trent, the tallest guard, roughly grabs my arm and yanks me to start walking toward the pack house. Wincing, I stumble along through the tree line. Once in sight of the pack house, he lets go of my arm. The three guards fall behind trailing me as I walk up the sidewalk. Opening the door, I head towards the sitting area where the other maids wait.

"Hi Mia!" I hear one of the maids--Aria--exclaim.

"Hey, how's it going at the pack house?" I ask the only two friends I have.

Leslie, the other maid, replies, "Pretty good. We've just been busy lately with the arrival of the King coming up."

"Yeah Alpha has been keeping me busy cleaning his house for the arrival," I said keeping my response brief. "Let's discuss our plans for the dinner and cleaning arrangements. Alpha wants the two of you to be at his house the day the Alpha King arrives, and then he said you all can come back here after dinner is cleaned up."

"Have you decided what food we are going to make for the dinner?" Aria asked.

"Well Alpha requested a three-course meal and no more so that the dinner does not take too much time. He wants to do office negotiations after dinner. I was thinking of starting the first course with a crab bisque. The main course will be a sautéed chicken breast topped on a bed of rice with garlic green beans and creamed potatoes, and then the third course will be a chocolate  mousse with raspberry coulis."

"Wow, that sounds great Mia. You always come up with the best recipes," Leslie complimented me.

I blushed at this compliment. Before my parents died, my mom was a stay-at-home mom. While dad was out doing his warrior duties, my mom and I would cook together. She was always the best chef and often made pack meals too.

Blinking my tears away from the memory, I reply, "Thank you Leslie. Can you all can come over in the morning to help get prepared? Alpha wants everything perfect."

"Of course girl! Everything will be great. You are Alpha's top maid for a reason!" Aria exclaimed.

I faked a smile knowing that she meant well. They all think I am the top maid for being good at my job. If only they knew the truth, but I know the guards are listening in.

"Well, I better get going. See you all tomorrow," I wave as I pick up my notebook and head towards the door.

"Oh wait Mia!" I hear Aria yell, "What do we wear tomorrow?"

"Oh yeah, Alpha has clothes for us at the house. He wants us to look professional but not stand out so it is a black shirt, black jeans, and black sneakers," I let them know before leaving.

I head towards the guards and we make out trek back to Alpha's house. I am extremely excited to be able to wear the new clothes tomorrow. It will be the first time I have gotten anything new to wear since my parents died. I am still in the same little girl clothing I have been for the past six years. It works out though since I do not get to eat a lot. Also, it reminds me of when I was with my parents, so I am grateful for that.

I get back to the pack house in time to start dinner before Alpha comes home. Stumbling around the kitchen, I find some steaks to sear. Alpha likes his rare, so they will not take long to cook. I start making a Caesar salad, but stop when I hear the front door. Alpha must be home.

"Is my dinner ready yet?" Alpha yells from the living room.

"It is almost done, Alpha," I reply.

He walks into view and grabs a beer out of the fridge. Looking me up and down, Alpha says, "Well you better fucking hurry or you will get it tonight." He throws the beer cap in the floor and struts to the dining table.

"Yes sir," I reply, flipping his steak. Quickly, I finish getting everything together. I walk into the dining room to serve Alpha his food. I noticed along with the beer, he has a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey. My heart immediately drops. Anytime Alpha drinks his bottles of whiskey, he ends the night with giving me a beating. Shaking, I serve Alpha his food.

"That will be all!" Alpha exclaims. I hurriedly run up to my room to avoid him. As I sit on my bed, my stomach growls. I just realized I have not eaten anything today. I typically do not eat a lot anyways, but I do not want to mess anything up tomorrow. I need to be energized and ready or else Alpha would probably kill me. Plus, I only had an apple yesterday, so I feel extremely weak. Maybe if I wait long enough for him to eat his dinner, I can sneak in the kitchen and get a muffin. I lay in bed thinking about what would be best.

About an hour later, I finally decide it has been long enough. If I am quiet, I can go downstairs and get a muffin. I slowly get up and walk down the hallway. Tiptoeing down the stairs, I do not see any sign of Alpha yet. I eventually make it to the kitchen at my slow pace. Score! Chocolate muffin! I stand in the shadows of the kitchen, trying to go unnoticed as I devour the muffin. Finishing up, I toss the wrapper in the trash can.

"What the hell are you still doing in here?"
