Another day, another time walking home from work, nothing changes or so you thought untill tonight.
You leave work as normal, collecting your things together.
"I'm ready to go, bye!" you happily say to your manager as you exit out the door.
//Happily huh? I guess you could say I am surviving with this never changing routine// you think as you walk down the path towards home.
The streets are dark with the only light coming from the houses you pass and street lights, it's cold outside wearing your scarf you snuggle your face into the warmth of the fabric for protection against the freezing breeze.
Something stops you in your tracks, frozen, you stand there with eyes wide, your heart starts to pump blood around your body faster than just a moment ago when you where quite content walking home.
...Splatters of blood are on the ground in front of you, they lead down a dark alley. You start to feel sick as your mind wonders what could have made this mess.
//ghouls ...shit, I'm going to die, I'm going to fucking die//
You fall backwards onto the ground shivering in the cold wind when you suddenly hear laughter.
"HAHAH! HAHAH! HANG IN THERE! HAH! DON'T DIE NOW!" the voice is coming from the alley were the pools of blood are leading into, sounds of more blood splatters enter your ear along with the sound of slicing and heavy objects dropping onto the ground ...bodies?
Your legs turn to jelly, unable to move, your widened eyes fixed on the alley exit hoping nothing would notice you. That wish of not being noticed wasn't heard, sounds of steps entered your ears coming towards the exit of the alley.
//Here it comes ...what ever it is, it's going to kill me// your eyes start filling with water and your sight becomes blurry as a figure emerges from the dark alley. With a blurred vision it stops you from focusing on the figure as it walks towards you. The only thing you can tell from this blurred vision is this was a small figure, smaller in height than yourself, it was holding something sharp in both hands you could tell as they gleamed slighty against the street light. Something was dripping off the figure, straight away you knew it was blood, you didn't need the color to confirm that.
The figure spreads it's legs to make it's position directly above your body.
Feeling weak and vulnerable you shout out "leave me alone! go away! you monster!" your body reacts by giving out a kick, which the figure easily dodges. You weren't taught how to fight after all, however it did make them back off to get you room.
"ah Rei-chan they don't look like one ~ ...sorry" you hear a child like voice as you rise your body off the ground to stand, wiping your teary eyes with your sleeve you see the figure walking off into the distance.
For some reason after hearing their voice it made you feel at ease //so they weren't a ghoul after all ...phew, more importantly did they just ...// you stopped yourself from thinking any further. By shaking off the thoughts you quckily walked the rest of your way home, keeping your eyes tightly shut as you pasted each dark alley.
Your racing heart hadn't completely calmed down after what you had just witnessed and you couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching, you weren't about to stop to find out.
Once you entered threw the front door of your home things started to feel more calm, your heart started to be more stable. However this feeling of being followed home wasn't so easy to shake off, you look out the window to see a small figure standing at the corner of a building, the sight sent shivers down your spine as you rushed to the front door to make sure it was locked. As you returned to look out the window again the figure had moved off.
*BANG BANG BANG*
Somone or something was at your front door ...
