A Whole New World

The light was too bright. When I woke up, I saw a woman standing over me. She smiled, "You look hurt. Please, go visit the hospital. There is a doctor who can help you." Just then I felt it. It was a sharp pain in my stomach and it hurt! I didn't know where I was but the girl continued speaking, "Please. Don't feel afraid here. I'm the princess and you have just been accepted into the kingdom. All you have to do is go through those doors and follow the signs. You'll get to the hospital shortly." She had a warm smile and I knew that she would become a friend later on. I walked down a long corridor that was outside and this place. It was new. It wasn't the world I was living in but another. It was beautiful here. I saw cherry blossoms and large oak trees. I came across the first and only sign that I would find to the hospital.

The sign said to turn left and just keep going straight. Well, I walked into the emergency room and one of the nurses came out. She looked at me, "Name please..." She had a warm smile and in my deep voice I answered her, "Jake ma'am. It's a pleasure to meet you." I still hadn't lost my manners that i had grown up with. She blushed a little bit, "Okay Jake, if you go down the hall and make a right, there will be a small room. Go ahead and wait in there and I'll have the doctor come look at you."I thanked her for her kindness and sat down on the mattress that was there. It had the crinkly white paper that it usually does and i sat down. I started playing with some of the equipment when I accidentally pushed something. I turned it off right away but it scared me enough to leave everything in the room alone. And that's when I heard it. The most beautiful laugh in the world. She came into the room and when i looked at her, she was the most beautiful person i had ever seen.

She walked in and I felt my heart skip a beat. It was love at first sight. I had to think about what I said before I spoke or I would stammer. She walked in, "Hello. My name is Savannah. You're....?" I could tell that she hadn't been told my name, "It's Jake ma'am." She smiled and asked me to remove my shirt. I was a little nervous but the wound was really hurting me so I did as she asked. When she looked at me, she saw my body and she blushed. She looked so cute when her cheeks turned a little red. I couldn't help but laugh a little. She cleaned my wound and I was able to put my shirt back on. She smiled, "Let's walk around Jake. You're new here." I smiled back and followed her out. She showed me around the hospital and led me to a small garden. She told me about how she loved flowers and then I heard someone call her name, "Savannah." She heard him too. She turned and walked a little ways to meet him. He kissed her and she came over to me, "Jake, this is my...boyfriend." I looked at him and shook his hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you sir." He didn't respond back to me but merely shook his head. She hugged me, "Bye Jake. I'll see you around sometime." "Bye Savannah." I smiled and watched her leave to a car with three other girls inside.

I didn't really know where I was so I didn't know where to go. All I knew was that I was tired and I wanted a place to rest. It happened almost instantly, as if someone was reading my thoughts, a small girl appeared. She looked different from the people I had seen here. She had wings! This was new for me but then again this world was different from the world I had come from. She smiled at me and in a low voice she spoke, "Jake, if you would follow me please. We have a small room set up for you." She walked and I followed her. She lead me to a small cottage that was surrounded by lillies, "how...did you...know?" The winged woman smiled, "We knew as soon as they started to grow." I was confused and wanted to ask what she meant by that but I was too tired so I let it go. I thanked her for the small cottage and she smiled. She walked away and I turned to face the door of what would be my home for now.

I put my hand on the doorknob and I opened the door. I felt warmth come from the small room and I could smell a faint hint of vanilla. It wasn't suffocating me though. I walked inside and closed the door. It was a small living room. There was a small couch that folded out into a bed. I walked over to it and pulled it out. It looked comfortable enough, or so I'd hoped. Before I laid down, I looked around the place. To the right of the door I had come in was a small restroom. I walked in. There was a small mirror and I looked at myself. My tired light blue eyes staring back at me. I looked at my blonde hair and saw that I needed a haircut. This was too long. I then noticed that the shirt I had on has blood on it. I took off the white shirt and saw the wound that Savannah had cleaned up and stitched. I smiled a little as I remembered her touch being so soft.

When I walked out of the bathroom, I walked over to the couch bed. Now I'm not the kind of guy who will sleep in the nude. But I didn't have any pajamas. So I took my pants off and slept in my boxers. It was awkward but soon enough I got comfortable. I grabbed a pillow so I could rest my head on it and i put my hands behind my head. I was thinking about this new world I was in. It was different but I knew that soon enough it would become my home. As my body started to relax, my mind started to wander. It went back to the girl I had met. Savannah. She was so beautiful and I realized that my heart started to beat faster the more I thought about her. It brought a big smile to my face and I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning in a cold sweat. I had had a nightmare. I shook my head as the words were replayed in my head, "IF YOU WALK OUT THAT DOOR NOW, DON'T EVER COME BACK HERE!" The words of my step father rang through my head and I felt my hands starting to burn. I looked at down at them and saw that the scars I had there were bright red. I cursed at myself for scratching my hands in my sleep. After a while of trying to calm myself from the dream, I looked at the time. It was only 7:30 in the morning. I sighed and got up. I looked over to see that somehow there was a fresh new pair of clothes. They looked roughly my size so i got up and grabbed them.

Once I had grabbed the clothes, I went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and I got dressed. I looked at myself in the mirror and fixed my hair. "Damn I really need a haircut." I laughed at myself. I fixed up the small couch bed I slept in and walked out the door. It was really sunny outside but surprisingly the small breeze that passed through me was fresh. I didn't know where to go so I just walked around for a while. I passed by the hospital and thought back to Savannah. Would I ever see her again?

So this is my first story. I'm new to Wattpad but hopefully I'm doing this right? Hopefully you all enjoy the first two chapters? They aren't super long but hopefully you get a good idea of the story line? If not then as the story progresses, you'll hear more about Jake's past and what not. Hopefully you all like.
