"I HATE YOU"
That was all it took. Those few words and it was all over. I didn't know what I was thinking when I said these words other than complete rage.
He looked at me with sadness evident his eyes, tears threatening to fall but not quite getting there...
He smiled.
I didn't know what to do, he stepped closer but I stepped away. I was confused. And then they fell, one tear after another rolled down the males cheeks as he sobbed.
"Why? Why do you hate me oh so much?" His smile faltered as those words fell from his lips in a choked whisper. "After all this time, why?"
I had no answers. I didn't know. It wasn't true, I wanted to say, it was just my anger in the moment. It had no weight, it was just a figment of my imagination but nothing came out of my mouth except a choked sob.
