It was very foggy. He was in a car. A very large car. He slowly awoke from his slumber to find himself in the car.
"Ah.... It seems we have a guest with an intriguing destiny......" He proceeded to chuckle. "My name is Igor... I am delighted to make your acquaintance." He had added. Igor went on about where they were at this present moment. "This place exists between dream and reality... mind and matter... it is a room where only those who are bound by a "contract" may enter... it may be that such a fate awaits you in the near future..." he rambled on. "Now then... why don't you introduce yourself...?" Igor asked the boy. The boy struggled to remember his name, as if his memory had been completely wiped. "Yu.... Yu Narukami." He had finally stuttered. Igor nodded. "Hm... I see. Now let's take a look at your future, shall we?" Yu nodded. "Do you believe in fortune telling?" Igor asked Yu. He only stayed silent though, as it seemed that he could only remember his name. "Each reading is done with the same cards, yet the result is always different..." Igor chuckled again. "life itself follows the same principles, doesn't it?" Igor added. He had summoned a bunch of tarot cards, and preceded to flip one over. "Hmm..... the tower in the upright position represents the immediate future. it seems that a catastrophe is imminent." Yu started to get a little bit nervous now. He didn't know what kind of "catastrophe" awaited him. Was this good? Was this bad? He didn't know what to think. Igor flipped another card over. "The moon, in the upright position. This card represents "hesitation" and "mystery"... very interesting indeed." Igor wasn't kidding around.... He was serious. "it seems you will encounter a misfortune at your destination, and a great mystery will be imposed upon you. In the coming days, you will enter into a contract of some sort, after which you will return here. The coming year is a turning point in your destiny... If the mystery goes unsolved, your future may be forever lost. My duty is is to provide assistance to our guests to ensure that does not happen." Igor rambled on for a little bit longer, until Yu asked "who's that?" He pointed to the woman sitting beside him. "Ah! I have neglected to introduce my assistant to you. This is Margaret. She is a resident of this place like myself." Igor said. Yu thought for a minute why he said resident. He then disregarded it. "My name is Margaret. I am here to accompany you through your journey." she said. "We shall attend to the details another time. Until then, farewell..." said Igor. The room he was in started to fade away, as his eyes slowly closed. Yu Narukami. Yu Narukami. That was his name.
