He does not show much facial expression but he has been known to make the occasional joke with those he trusts. He has a very dedicated attitude towards his students spending nearly all of his time trying to improve them anyway he can manage.

Battle experience: From years of fighting for his life he has killed and had people attempt to kill him.
Proficient in hand to hand combat: Trained in this just in case he ever lost his sword.
Knowledge of survival: For the cheapest option of living he can live in the woods foraging or hunting.
Sword fist hybrid style: He will use his sword in one hand to attack the opponent and his other hand will strike openings or grab them to pull them off balance.
Master fisherman: He had spent a few months at a small fishing village for work and learned from the people tips and tricks for fishing.
High pain tolerance: He has a extreme threshold for pain ever since he was a child.
Low detection from Grimm: Thanks to his calm And mask like personality and emotions Grimm will very rarely notice him.
